Black Mamba Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

For a vaporizer that costs under 50 dollars the overall build quality of the Black Mamba is pretty good – right around average, not top of the line but you do get good value for the price you pay.

The Black Mamba uses a built in battery and a ceramic oven. The device uses a one button design which will make it less likely to breakdown due to the fact there are less moving parts.

Under the plastic mouthpiece is a glass vapor path. The designed allows the glass tube to stay safe while still delivering a more pure taste. I do like the design soft touch and glass mouthpiece.

Vapor Quality

The Black Mamba is similar to the G Pro vaporizer and produces about average vapor quality n terms of flavor and denseness. The G Pro heats up pretty quickly as does the Black Mamba especially on the lower of the five temperature settings.

When comparing the Mamba’s vapor production and taste to other devices that cost under $50 it does do pretty good. Having said that the under 50 dollar category does not have very much to offer. This is definitely a budget friendly device but the performance reflects that.

The draw resistance with the Mamba was better than I would have thought and the device has a glass mouthpiece underneath the plastic mouthpiece cover. The oven is all ceramic which does a good job of heating your material up quick.

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

The Black Mamba is a slim compact portable dry herb vape that has a simple plain design. The Black Mamba comes in black and a few different color options such as camo green and blue. The Mamba has just one button, an airflow vent on the side and LED lights to indicate temperature level and when the device is ready to use.

Overall for a price tag of under 50 the Black Mamba seems to be a pretty good deal. This holds true for the price you pay in relation to the immediate competition. There are many vaporizers that deliver superior performance in the $50 and up category.

If you are looking for a device with more power that is still relatively low cost I suggest looking into the Utillian 420. The Utillian is compatible with the Zeus Iceborn – a new accessory for cooling down draws and delivering a smooth vaping experience.

Discreetness

Discreetness

The Black Mamba is a compact device that is more discreet than many of the other portable vaporizers available. The Mamba does not look like a traditional pen or any other object that you would be carrying with you for everyday purposes but the black color and simple design does not make it very eye-catching either.

If you are looking to be more discrete with this unit you can always have it on the lowest temperature settings and take quicker draws.

Ease of Use

The Black Mamba is very simple to use, its design uses the popular one button interface which allows you to do everything you need it to do with different button pressing combinations. If this sounds confusing, trust me it is not. You turn it on by pressing the power button 5 times and change the temperature by holding the same button for a few seconds.

The Black Mamba has 5 temperature options that you can set it to. When you choose a new temperature the lights will flash up to the level you have chosen and will turn the same solid color when it’s reached the set temperature.

Portability

Portability

The Black Mamba is a small device that easily fits into your pocket for on the go use. The oven size can fit about half a gram comfortably which is a bit larger than your average portable dry herb device. A full battery charge with the Mamba can get the average user through the day but if you are a heavy vape user you may need to get a device with a more powerful battery such as the Utillian 721. The Mamba uses a 1650 mAh battery which for the price is actually quite impressive.

The design of the Mamba is perfect for on the go use. It is a soft surface with a design that protects the glass mouthpiece. With or without a travel case this device can be toted around with you.

Conclusion

The Black Mamba is an overall nice looking vaporizer with a smart design that performs better than many of the vapes in the low-end price range. If you are new to purchasing a vaporizer and have never owned one before this could be a good entry point. The oven size is perfect for loading an amount of herb that can last many sessions. The glass stem hidden under the plastic protective cap keeps it safe while delivering good flavor.

The Mamba is a good entry vaporizer that will give you decent vapor. However, If you are looking for a device that will definitely not disappoint you should look into the devices we have reviewed in the higher price categories. You can learn more about some of the top vaporizers here.
