Black Rasta Glass Spoon Review: Breakdown
This pipe is made from boroscilicate glass and its simplicity is well executed. The workmanship is shown in the smoothness of the glass on all it’s edges. All if it is well rounded and smooth without any uneven edges or unsightly bumps from where the glass was cut. It’s always nice to see a piece made by someone who knows what they’re doing.
Just like the white version of this spoon, the smoke quality isn’t the best and that’s really just typical of these kinds of pipes. The choke helps cool the smoke a bit and makes the experience a bit more interactive, but it’s not filtered through anything that could change the smoothness of the smoke. That combined with the proximity of the bowl to the mouth piece means that the smoke will be kind of rough and hard to handle without coughing a bit for all but the most hardcore of smokers. That being said, the fact that it is all glass means the flavor of the smoke is true to your herb and that’s always a good thing (as long as you have good herb. If you don’t, that isn’t our fault.)
Look and Feel
Just like the other rasta piece, this piece has the same rasta stripes down the middle but with black sides instead of white. This does make the piece feel less nice to an extent, but it does keep it from looking dirty too quickly, which is a huge advantage for the lazy (aka. me). The pipe still has a clean finish to it and a good overall look and the glass feels strong and high quality!
Ease of Maintenance
Hooray for dropping a piece in Iso. and walking away! You don’t have to use alcohol to clean it, but regardless you’ll be able to drop it into some cleaning solution and screw off to play video games or hang out with friends while your piece cleans itself! That’s always an advantage and makes it more of a pleasure to use because you know you never have to work hard to clean it.
Like I said before, I’m not a huge fan of pipes like these all the time, but when it’s time to pull one out, you want one that looks good and that’s easy to use and clean. This pipe provides on that end and makes for a pretty hassle-free experience. If you’re looking for a spoon and have a think for the Rasta look, this pipe is a great choice!
