Welcome to the Extreme Q vaporizer review! The Extreme Q is a versatile unit that comes to us from Canadian manufacturer Arizer. Arizer also makes the V-Tower, Air and Solo. In the box you get the vaporizer itself, a remote control, 2 glass mouthpieces, 2 glass cyclone bowls, one potpourri dish, a glass stirring tool, two packs of replacement screens, an A/C adapter, two balloons, two elbow adapters, one short whip, one long whip, and the instruction manual.

You may have noticed the inclusion of bags and whips in the box and that’s because the Extreme Q works with either the traditional whip system, or with a balloon kit. It’s a vaporizer that has an excellent temperature range and will do a great job with your dry botanical or concentrates.

Product Pros

  1. Options of whip or bag vaporizing
  2. Auto shut off
  3. Accurate temperature settings
  4. Wide temperature range

Product Cons

  1. Glass must be handled with care
  2. Bag set up can be difficult

Extreme Q Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

The EQ’s heating chamber is housed within a dual wall stainless steel encasement. The air pathway is entirely non-toxic, and the heating chamber is ceramic. Its encasement keeps the unit cool on the outside while the inside reaches your desired temperature.

Thought the unit’s shell is composed entirely of plastic, you won’t find the unit to be cheaply made or poorly assembled. The unit still feels durable and solidly built – as one would expect of a Canadian-made unit.

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality with the Extreme Q is excellent. Its glass cyclone bowl and ceramic heating chamber don’t impart any tastes onto your vapor, and whether you’re using the whip or balloons you will love the way the Extreme Q brings out the flavor of your dry botanical. Again, the vapor is very thick and smooth. It can be a little hot at the highest temperature settings, but isn’t too irritating. We’ve definitely tasted much hotter vapor from other units at even lower temperatures, so the Cyclone bowl with the Extreme Q obviously does a great job of cooling things down.

Design

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

The EQ is awesome because despite its relatively low price point, it looks, acts, and feels like a premium product. Its solid construction reminds us of the Volcano, and the very responsive LED screen definitely brings a high-tech air to the whole experience.

Little details often give us the feeling of quality, and for some reason when holding the EQ’s elbow adapter you can get an idea of the manufacturer’s direction. They use high quality thick glass that fits like a glove into the cyclone bowl. Unlike other glass-on-glass vaporizers that sometimes stick, we haven’t often had issues with the EQ’s cyclone bowl fusing to the elbow.  They could have used cheaper glass, but chose to go for quality.

Another indication of the overall quality of the unit is in its fan. A fan may seem like a simple component, but the Extreme Q’s fan is outstanding. The “Q” in the name comes from “Quiet” – this device’s fan is the quietest we’ve heard of any vaporizer, but is still mighty.

Difficulty

Ease of Use

The Extreme Q is an easy unit to pick up and start using right away, especially in whip mode. Assembling the balloons honestly gave us a bit of a headache, but once you’ve figured out your method of assembling the bags you’ll be just fine. The manufacturer’s suggested method of threading the balloon through the two O-rings seems to be the ideal route; however it is certainly a challenge the first time. I recommend watching the tutorial video on TorontoVaporizer.ca and you can check the up-to-date price as well.

If you’re frustrated with the balloons, wrap an elastic band around the bag, and this should create enough of a seal to enjoy your balloons. To be fair, with practice it isn’t a difficult process. However, if you find yourself switching up to whip mode to vaporize off your frustrations the first time, you wouldn’t be the first one!

Options

Options

The Extreme Q excels at providing lots of different options to the user. In one way, it’s a two-in-one unit – balloon and whip. Beyond these two big choices, there are a few other great features. Firstly, the EQ comes with a remote control, something no other vaporizer can claim! It’s a small feature, but it shows the range this device has. You can turn on the unit as you walk through the door to your place and have it heated up before you land in the seat next to it.

Finally, the Extreme Q does a great job as an aroma diffuser. With its temperature range and fan you can diffuse any scents or essential oils into your room with the aide of the dedicated potpourri dish.

Reach

Reach

The Extreme Q excels in this category as it is not only able to provide the bag vaporizing experience that comes with other high end units like the Volcano, but also has the ability to do whip style vaporizing. This means that when used at a party or by one single solitary smoker, the unit won’t disappoint!

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

If you’re looking for a vaporizer that will give you a ton of options for an incredibly great value, do yourself a favor and grab an Extreme Q. It’s simply an awesome vaporizer for the price, and you would be hard pressed to find more bang for your buck. We love its temperature control and range, and at the highest temperatures the vapor produced will satisfy even the beginning user. You get the choice of using balloons or a whip, a benefit that we can’t overstate enough. All of these great qualities are what make the Extreme Q a vaporizer that we think everyone should have as a part of their collection.

We also wanted to suggest you check out a cool, new the vapor filtration device, called the ZEUS Iceborn that makes a great addition to the Extreme Q. We recently reviewed it and were blown away by how it cools down even some of the hottest vapour with ice, bumping up its vapor quality by 2 points! The Iceborn is also much more efficient than filtering your vapor with a bong, and allows you to blow massive frosty clouds. You can read our review of the Iceborn here!

A friend of mine has this unit and we had a test session the other day comparing it to my HerbalAire.

Although it’s a nice unit we both agreed that the HerbalAire was the better unit. Too bad i couldnt find that unit in your reviews.

Thanks for the comment, Marco! There are other units out there that are better for sure, but we think this unit does an amazing job, especially for the price. We’ll work on getting a HerbalAire review up for all you readers in the new year so stay tuned for that!
