Fez Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Quality

Build Quality

Build Quality

The build quality of the FEZ vaporizer is pretty good considering the low cost of the unit. The device houses an anodized aluminum chamber to heat your dry herbs.

The build I would say is above average and the value is upheld really by the long lasting powerful 4000mVh lithium ion battery that it uses.

The package that you get includes a food safe silicone mouthpiece, a micro USB charging cable, charging adapter, storage container, cleaning kit, chamber sleeve, and the user manual.

Vapor Quality

The first thing that I would like to say about the vapor quality of the FEZ vaporizer is that I did taste a bit of plastic with my draws. This is likely to go away after some heavy use but I did notice this more with this vaporizer than I typically do with others.

The vapor itself was pretty good and the device heats up to vaping temperature in just a little over 1 minute. This is a bit slow for me and there are some vaporizers that heat up pretty much instantly so this alone was a bit of a shortfall for me.

Having said that after waiting for the go signal the vapor quality was pretty tasty and not to hot. I prefer to use the medium temperature with my herbs with this device as I found that the highest temperature would vape my herb to quickly. The lower temperature was also pretty good, but I preferred the middle the best.

The FEZ has a sleep mode that it will automatically go into if you are taking too long in between your draws. This I found was a useful feature to conserve material.

Design

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

I really like the simple look of the FEZ device I think it has a bit more of a unique feel and look than other dry herb vape pens.

The FEZ has a neat little feature that allows you to shake the device to check the battery level.

If you shake it and the light flashes with 3 green pulses it means that you have a full battery, if it flashes with two orange pulses you have a battery life somewhere in the middle and if you see one red flash it is indicating a low battery.

Discreetness

Discreetness

The FEZ is a fairly small herbal pen that you can carry around with you and one that fits in your pocket. If you are looking for a discrete model I would suggest getting the black one since the white and red are a little brighter and easier to spot.

One of the downfalls I would say on the topic of discretion is that you can quickly take a hit with the FEZ because it takes around a minute to heat up. If time is not an issue you can use the FEZ on its lowest heating temperature to get more taste and less visible vapor.

Difficulty

Ease of Use

The device has only one button which is used to turn it on/off and also change between the 3 pre set temperature options. To power it on you hold the button for 2 seconds, and to cycle through the temperatures you press once. The FEZ vaporizer comes with a micro usb charger which charges the device in around an hour and a half. We mentioned above that you can shake the vape to see what the remaining temperature is.

Before you jump in and use the vaporizer with you material you should ensure that it has a ful charge to give your battery a good start. You should also run the device on the highest heating cycle perhaps a few times to help eliminate the plastic taste and to give it a clean to remove any of the unwanted manufacturing process residues.

To use the FEZ vape you simply load the oven chamber by twisting off the mouthpiece and loading the chamber with your dry herb. The maintenance required with this vaporizer is low and you really just need to use the included maintenance kit once in a while to give the oven a quick sweep.

Portability

Portability

The portability aspect of the FEZ is definitly an area where this vaporizer shines.

The battery is powerful and one of the best I’ve seen in a compact device. It is claimed that you can get around 2000 draws from just one charge.

I did not personally count how many draws I took before the device needed a charge but I will say that it was pretty impressive.

Conclusion

Overall the FEZ vaporizer I would say is a pretty good herbal pen with the battery being its biggest strength. The build quality is pretty good and the vapor quality is also not too bad. The unique shaking feature was pretty cool to check the battery life and it seems simple enough to use and keep clean. Having said that I will also say that this was not my favorite device for herbs that I have used and in pretty much all categories I would say you can find something better for around the same price.

For the price the Utillian 420 is a way better deal and provides the user a cleaner and tastier session for your herbs. You can learn more about some of the top vaporizers here.

If you have a bit more of a budget to work with the Firefly 2 is a great choice for convection vaping, and for a high performing budget vaporizer we suggest having a look at the Utillian 721.
