Herbalizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

When I first saw this unit, my first thought was “why the hell is there so much plastic?” You are paying a decent chunk of change for it, so this is a bit of a shocking discovery and not the most comforting first impression. Once I got into it, I was comforted some by the fact that the plastic wasn’t low quality garbage – it’s actually quite strong. Inside that plastic shell is a 16 bit 32 MHz processor, that might seem trivial, but its responsible for the super user friendly interface on the color LED screen, which is a huge plus on it’s own that we’ll get into later. To cap things off, the entire vapor pathway is medical grade materials so you can be sure that every draw is safe, pure and from nothing but the highest quality materials.

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality with this unit is, and I’m speaking conservatively here, amazing. The vapor is cool and smooth, the taste is pure and the efficiency of this unit is fantastic. This is attributed to a few factors, the first of which is the medical-grade silicone tubing. The tubing doesn’t add any taste to your vapor and even if you’re using the bag, the mouth piece is made of medical-grade silicone as well, so it’s just as pure. The other thing that works to this unit’s advantage is the super-accurate temperature setting. The unit keeps such an accurate temperature with the help from the sensors in the unit and the 16 bit processor so you extract vapor at exactly the temperature you set and you can make the most of your herb by tailoring the vapor to your preferences.

Look and Feel

Like I mentioned in the build quality section, the plastic can be a bit disconcerting, but the plastic is durable and the rest of the unit looks smooth, polished and well designed. There is a little issue with the mezzanine storage area as it doesn’t have a magnet to lock into an up or down position, but that isn’t a deal-breaker by any means. The unit also doesn’t seem to click or lock closed which would be nice, but otherwise it looks like an expensive household device and you’d likely not have an issue leaving this unit out on a shelf or desk  when company comes over. It might even be better as you can use the scent diffusion setting to make your abode smell amazing for all your guests while you talk and relax. Overall this unit has a high quality, super unassuming look to it that’s rare for a stationary unit, especially one this powerful!

Ease of Use

The Herbalizer is surprisingly easy to use. Just open it to turn it on, select Vapotherapy, select your temperature, fill the chamber, pop it on and attache a balloon or whip and you’re ready to go! You can also select Arometherapy, throw some oils on the liquid pad and put that in the chamber to let the Herbalizer fill the room with the chosen scent. The unit’s user interface is super friendly and practically holds your hand through the process with prompts on the screen and explanations of what everything means. Even assembling a balloon is easy – you basically just shove the open end into the base of the silicone mouth piece. This unit really makes vaporizing as easy and enjoyable as possible!

Options

Options

One thing the Herbalizer has over the Volcano for sure is options. You can use a whip, bag or just diffuse scents into the air with the Herbalizer. The ability to choose between these different settings is an advantage on its own, but the unit also does each surprisingly well, proving to be something of a Jack of all vape trades. The scent diffusion is especially welcomed as the unit can do it while closed and serves to improve how discreet one can be with this unit. It’s able to cover up unwanted smells as well as hide in plain sight because given it’s size and look, most people would assume it’s just a scent diffusion device for aromatherapy and leave it at that.

Reach

Reach

The reach of this unit is great. The bag can be made as big or small as you want, filled with tasty vapor and then passed around at a party. Vaping with a group of friends is very easy with this unit as you can easily use a bag away from the unit, or just sit around the unit with the whip attached and pass it around. The heating chamber is big enough to hold a good amount of herb so you can satisfy a pretty large crowd so you won’t find yourself with unattended guests when your vaping session is over.

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

To sum things up, this unit really speaks to the skill and vision of those who can call themselves current or former NASA engineers. The unit is well thought out, well designed, and manages to cover many bases that a lot of units can barely cover and do it better than just about any other vaporizer on the market. It does whips, it does balloons, it does scent diffusion, and it does it in a covert package that can be left on your desk without calling unwanted attention to itself. This unit might be expensive, but if you have the money to pick one up, this isn’t a vaporizer you’ll want to pass up. On that note however, the Herbalizer is leaps and bounds more expensive than most stationary units out there, and the fact there are minor design flaws ( for this price ), like a shell that doesn’t fully click closed and a mezzanine that shifts around, just doesn’t sit well with us. If you are looking for a quality stationary that also does both balloons and whip, and even has a multi-user whip adaptor, we think you’d be pretty impressed with the VapirRise too. The Rise is about a quarter of the price of the Herbalzier and is so well manufactured you’ll be blown away be Vapir’s attention to detail.

I enjoy the video reviews and appreciate the effort made, but please cut those annoying interspersed black n white scratchy images! They are so annoying when you are trying to focus on the quality, look and feel of the vape in question and then it suddenly cuts to that and it looks awful!
