Kandypens K-Stick Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The cost of the K-Stick is under the $25 price point making it one of the cheapest vaping devices on the market. The build quality as you would expect with any device priced at the bottom of the barrel is pretty cheap. The amount of features and the components in the K-Stick are minimal and basic. The pen is one of the most straightforward little wax pen vaporizers money can buy.

The build quality is on the lower side of average and it is the type of unit you would want to get for something like a road trip or camping trip where you don’t care if it breaks. If you were to bring a very expensive vaporizer and it broke on an adventure you would probably be pretty upset, but this unit is cheap enough that it’s not a big deal to break or lose.

One of the main things that makes up a vaporizer pen is the battery, and the battery in the K-Stick is a poor battery that will not get you very far. The battery is a 280mAh battery which is perhaps the smallest I’ve ever heard of ina  vape pen.

Vapor Quality

The build quality may be poor, but that was expected. The vapor quality on the other hand was actually better than I had expected. This is what truly counts and it was nice to see that I could get some decent draws with the K-Stick. The unit has just one coil and is not able to get super hot. The flavor is nothing special but when you spend less than $25 on a portable vaporizer you shouldn’t have your hopes too high.

When you are travelling and you want to use some wax concentrates in a way that does not use combustion, the K-Stick is an affordable option that does the trick.

Design

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

The KandyPens K-Stick is very slim and very light weight. The battery mod is very small allowing the entire pen to be one of the slimmest on the market. The package comes with a twist on USB charger that has no cable and connects to the device itself. You get a dab tool to load your concentrates into the oven.

The actual pen has the ‘K’ symbol located on it which is the KandyPens icon. You are able to get a few different colors and there have been some locations that sell packs of three which you can get as a mixed package I believe. The pen has a golden color ring where the oven chamber is located. The device looks pretty good actually in my opinion.

Discreetness

Discreetness

For a wax pen the K-Stick is pretty discrete. This is one of the slimmest little vape pens you can get and it looks very similar to that of a pen you would use for writing.

The small battery means that you will not be able to produce large clouds meaning that it is more discrete than some of the other more powerful wax vapes on the market.

Difficulty

Ease of Use

This device is very simple to use. The K-Stick has just one button and no temperature settings. The charger twists on and you plug it into a USB port to charge it. To turn it on and off you click the button five times quickly.

When it’s on and you have your material in the chamber you hold down on the button and take your draw. You can hold down for 10 seconds maximum before it will auto shutdown for safety reasons.

The battery mod which is the base of this unit is said to also work with other 510 attachments such as oil cartridges.

Portability

Portability

The K-Stick is an extremely portable vape in terms of the size of the unit and the ultra light weight of it. The battery on the other hand as we talked about above in the build quality section is not very strong nor is it long lasting.

A small battery like the one used in this device would not get you very many sessions if it was a dry herb pen, but since this is a wax pen and your sessions are shorter you can actually get quite a few from this little battery. In comparison to other portable pens it falls very short though, that is why the overall portability is not super great with the K-Stick.

If you are travelling and want a cheap pen that you can dispose of before hoping back on a plane that this may be perfect for you. The price gives this little vape a bump in points for portability.

Conclusion

My overall thoughts on the K-Stick is that for an under $25 vape pen it is something that you will be able to get when you are traveling and can dispose of without breaking the bank. If you are looking for a top of the line vaporizer or one of the best vapor producers this is not it, but it has its purpose.

There are tons of vape pens on the market and some for every budget, you may find it helpful to check out our vape pen section where we review the top devices in the industry. One popular device that may be worth looking into fits most budgets is the Thunder 2.
