Linx Hypnos Zero Review: Breakdown

Quality

Build Quality

Build Quality

Overall, the build quality for the Hypnos Zero is pretty good. There’s no denying that they did a great job with the design, keeping the overall height under 11 cm with an attractive stainless steel finish that gives it a high-quality look. All of the components are well machined, and the exterior is smooth to touch.

It seems that they put a good deal of work into the atomizer as well. They call the style a ceramic plate, and there are no wicks or rods involved. It’s not quite a donut (see Sirius+ for reference) because it heats the wax from the center, and the result is very impressive. More on that in the vapor quality section.

One complaint that I have is the battery size. This is outfitted with a 650mAh battery with your standard 510 threads. A battery this small only gives you enough juice for a day’s worth of moderate vaping. This is the trade-off that you have to make to get small sizes, but it can still be frustrating.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality is probably the most impressive thing about the Hypnos Zero. The flavor was much better than you would expect from a small wax pen like this. The ceramic plate atomizer has a lot to do with this, and I expect it will be a popular change with people who may used coiled units like the Kandypens Galaxy.

There are four temperature settings packed into this pen, which also helps you customize your experience to the type of vapor you prefer. The lower two options deliver incredible flavor, with the lowest putting out almost no visible vapor upon exhale. The upper two levels are great if you want to get stronger draws and denser vapor.

One last thing that was really nice was the airflow. Lynx did a great job making sure you wouldn’t have to deal with unnecessarily restricted airflow, allowing you to get big draws if you want to.

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

Sleek is the main word that comes to mind in this department. The small size and brushed stainless steel finish make it feel like an Apple product, which is certainly a good thing when it comes to design.

Small vaporizers tend to feel flimsy, but this isn’t a problem here. The stainless steel helps a lot, because a plastic finish would not have felt nearly as durable.

Discreetness

Discreetness

This is a very good option if you are looking for a discrete wax pen. The size is an obvious advantage, because you can easily keep it concealed even when taking a draw.

Another major strength is the lower temperature options because they help make sure that vapor clouds don’t draw attention to you.

Difficulty

Ease of Use

This unit is very easy to use. Everything is extremely straightforward, and even someone who has never used a wax pen before would have no problem figuring it out.

The unit turns on with five clicks of the power button. All you have to do to change the power is click the same button three more times. The current level is indicated by the color of the light. From lowest to highest, the colors are blue, green, yellow, and red.

The atomizer style also makes this easier to use than most. With no rods or coils to deal with, vaping is as simple as dropping a pea-sized amount of wax into the chamber and allowing it to heat up.

Portability

Portability

The only thing that limits the portability of the Hypnos Zero is the battery size. While it’s a great unit to carry around in your pocket because of the size, you won’t be able to use it much without recharging since the battery is just 650mAh.

To be fair, this should be more than enough to enjoy an evenings worth of vaping, or even an entire day depending on the temperature level and frequency with which you use it.

Conclusion

The Lynx Hypnos Zero is definitely a wax pen worth considering. This is an awesome option for beginners. Using it is straightforward, and the results you’re able to achieve are fantastic. The vapor is smooth and flavorful, and big clouds are possible if you want them.

With that said, even seasoned vape users would enjoy this pen. The design is awesome, and the temperature flexibility is good enough to keep all but the most fickle happy. While the amount of wax you can fit inside isn’t all that much, the vape is extremely efficient and delivers more draws than you would otherwise expect.

The biggest reason I would caution against getting this pen is battery size. If you want something that can last a long time without needing to stop and charge, then you’ll need to look elsewhere. Find something like the ZEUS Thunder 2, which has a similar design but bigger battery, or look for one with removable batteries so you can get extras to swap in.

If you buy the Hypnos Zero or get a chance to try one, come back and let us know what you think. We’re especially interested in your thoughts on the new atomizer design!
