Smok is looking into being a trendsetter for vape mods. Just like their G Priv lineup, it seems like they want to make mods with big screens a standard. Looking at the X Priv, you really can’t deny how classy and elegant it is. From the premium zinc alloy body to the all-glass front with a 2-inch high definition display, it looks like you can even watch a movie on this.

Smok made the X Priv available in 7 colors, gold, blue, chrome, gunmetal, red, pink and rainbow. Yes, pink and rainbow! The tank included in the kit, the TFV12 Prince tank, will match the color the X Priv you get so it is definitely a nice combo.

The X Priv only has 3 buttons. The long side firing key, and the standard up and down buttons, that’s right, it has an up and down button which is a bummer since the large 2-inch high definition display at the front is not a touchscreen display, but it really doesn’t matter, it’s still pretty though.

It also has a micro USB port at the bottom of the screen to charge the device and for a potential firmware upgrade. On the back sits the glossy battery door with a honeycomb design that houses two 18650 batteries.

Now let us talk about the included tank in the kit, the TFV12 Prince. The TFV12 Prince has been around for months and has received a lot of good reviews. This tank is purely made of stainless steel and comes with two glass tubes, two coil heads, and a resin drip tip. The glass tubes included are a bulb-shaped glass tube which can hold up to 8 ml of juice and a straight tube that can hold up to 2 ml of e-liquid.

The tank comes pre-installed with a 0.4 ohm coil head and has an extra 0.12 ohm coil head. The cool part of this tank is how you fill her up. The top part of the tank has a button that releases the top lid in which then you just have to slide it open and fill the tank up with your favorite juice. The tolerance of the threads and the proper placement of o-rings makes this a leak-free tank.

If you think the build quality of the kit can’t get any better, Smok didn’t skimp out the included USB cable as well. The cable included is made of a durable material, fully covered with a protective coat to ensure longevity and high flexibility. The two ends of the cable also have specially designed springs to avoid damage to it when being used.

The Smok X Priv kit comes with 2 coil heads. The v12 prince-q4 which is a 0.4 ohm coil head and the v12 prince-t10 which is a 0.12 coil head. The 0.4 coil head is rated to use between 60 to 80 watts which is perfect for vapers who want to get the most flavor out of their juice and the 0.12 coil head is rated at 80 to 110 watts, perfect for the cloud chasers out there who wants to chuck vapor all day.

Having the X Priv mod that can output up to 225 watts of power, you can never go wrong on whichever coil you want to use. The TFV12 Prince tank has a dual adjustable airflow, meaning, you can set it as restrictive as you want it to be for a nice and tight mouth to lung drag, or as open as you want for more air to go in for a nice big cloud.

But you can always set it in between for a balanced flavor and vapor, which I prefer personally. That’s the beauty of adjustable airflow.

Versatility

Versatility

The Smok X Priv mod has a max output of 225 watts, giving you more than enough room to use any kind of build or coil head and set the power to your liking whether you want a cold and smooth vape on a lower wattage or a warm and dense vape at higher wattages.

The fact that Smok included two coil heads of different resistance means you will have a lot of option if you choose to buy this. The two tank glasses included is a nice addition too.

If you don’t want to refill your tank every now and then, use the 8 ml bulb glass. If you have a juice rotation, like I am, use the 2 ml straight tube. It really depends on your preference and Smok is giving you all the options you want.

The X Priv also has a temperature mode if you want to use temperature compatible coils for that enhanced flavor and consistency that advanced vapers love.

Portability

Portability

The SMOK X Priv mod is barely larger than a credit card in height and width but is 30.4 mm thick and weighs 172 grams. With the TFV12 Prince tank installed, it adds another 57 mm in height, and given that it is powered by two 18650 batteries.

I really can’t say that it is the most portable vaping device out there but it can still fit in a pocket, although, it will feel bulky.

Conclusion

The Smok X Priv kit is a very classy and elegant looking mod that old and new vapers will like. The body construction, 2-inch high definition screen, a multitude of color selection and innovative tank design, everything screams quality. The power and options the X Priv mod can give and the vaping quality produced by the TFV12 Prince tank makes this kit is a winner in my book.
