The end of this year has brought to us an astounding number of portable vaporizers to look at for a good many manufacturers both old and new. Today we’re taking a look at the Smite, the newest portable vaporizer from ZEUS Arsenal that, unlike the ZEUS Thunder, is made specifically to vaporize dry herb. It seems that they’ve been hard at work this year developing and releasing units so lets get into the ZEUS Smite Vaporizer review to see what this little black box can do! Product Pros Easy to use Very portable Lit heating chamber Long battery life Quick heat up time Durably built Product Cons Small heating chamber ZEUS Smite Vaporizer Review: Video ZEUS Smite Vaporizer Review: Breakdown Quality Build Quality Before the launch, ZEUS Arsenal was known for their high quality Vaporizer Accessories so I expected good value at the relatively low price point. The Smite has an aluminum shell with sliding plastic doors that hide the heating chamber at the top and the compartment for the mouthpiece at the bottom. Speaking of the mouthpiece, it’s made of a heat-resistant silicone with a metal screen. The heating chamber is ceramic and lit by an LED so that you can see inside easily as you load it with your herb. All in all, this unit uses some good quality materials, is well machined which makes the unit feel polished from all aspects, and MagneticMag also supports that “The build quality is also really nice for a portable unit at this price”. Vapor Quality The vapor you get from this unit is actually pretty great and CollegeNews mentions in their review that “The Smite is a very smooth vaping experience.” The first thing that contributes to this is the ceramic heating chamber, which does a great job in heating your herb evenly and thoroughly. When it comes to heat, this unit provides more than just one standard heat setting despite it’s one-button design. The unit has 3 temperature settings: the first setting is 385 degrees Fahrenheit, the second is 399 degrees Fahrenheit, and the highest temperature setting is 414 degrees Fahrenheit. These settings cover a great range and make it possible to deliver vapor that can please people who like thinner vapor and people who like thicker vapor. The last thing that contributes to this unit’s vapor quality is the mouth piece, which is made of silicone. The silicone is heat resistant, so when the vapor passes through it, it doesn’t add any extra flavors to the vapor, which keeps the taste pure. Design Look and Feel This vaporizer looks and feels super stylish. Half of that is due to the unit’s black exterior and sliding panels, and the other half is due to the general design and attention to detail. Even Owen from Lift mentions in his review that “The Smite is made of anodized aluminum, a process which increases resistance to corrosion and wear, it also gives it a soft textured surface” The edges are curved which makes the unit feel sleek, and the hidden compartments make it feel like you’re carrying around a vaporizer James Bond might use. The vent on the front of the unit is in a cool “Z” pattern and even lights up a bit when the unit is in use. All the parts of this unit have been well machined and fit together quite seamlessly. Overall, when you hold the unit, it feels like you’re holding a high quality vaporizer despite it’s modest price tag. Discreetness This unit is very discreet, in fact Daniel from KnowTechie notes that “the Smite resembles a portable power bank due to its discreet appearance”. The only light on the unit can be easily covered with your thumb and the unit is all black, even the mouth piece. You can turn the temperature down to keep the session even more discreet and the unit doesn’t leak any extra vapor or smell. The Smite is also pretty small, so you can pretty easily fit it in your hand while it’s in use and when it isn’t, the mouth piece is stored inside the unit and could easily pass for something like an external hard drive. Ease of Use This unit is really easy to use, as you’d expect of a unit with only one button on it and Eric of SneakHype wrote in his review that “We’ve yet to come across a more… convenient device for botanical vape-age”.The button turns the unit on and off, and can even change the temperature the unit is set to. Actually using the unit is also pretty simple, as loading is easy thanks to the illuminated heating chamber, and the unit delivers consistent vapor with every draw. Portability The Smite’s design makes it really portable. The size of the unit itself makes the unit makes it easy to slide into your pocket, especially since the unit’s mouthpiece hides in a little compartment in the bottom of the unit. This makes the profile of the unit much more pocket-friendly. The unit is also made from good quality, durable materials so when you’re carrying it from point A to point B you don’t have to worry too much about it getting damaged on the way. The unit also has a great battery life. With about 2 hours of vaporization time, this unit sits right up there with some of the more premium units on the market. In fact, Scott Craft of iDigitalTimes asserted that “One area where the Smite easily bests its competition is battery life”. So, you won’t need to worry much about being without power when you’re ready for a session away from the house. Compatible with ZEUS IcebornThis vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory. Conclusion The Smite doesn’t exactly knock it way out of the park in any one category when you look at the scores, but you can tell that ZEUS Arsenal wasn’t really concerned with that when they were developing the unit. This unit is an all around performer, managing to to do a good job in every category and for an awesome price. That’s the real strength of this unit: it’s a fantastic vaporizer for the price. So if you’re looking for a unit that will provide you with good, long lasting service for a modest price, this unit is exactly what you’re looking for. If these last 2 units are any indication, ZEUS Arsenal looks like it might really be a company worth keeping an eye out for in 2015. We also wanted to suggest you check out a cool, new the vapor filtration device, called the ZEUS Iceborn that makes a great addition to the Smite. We recently reviewed it and were blown away by how it cools down even some of the hottest vapour with ice, bumping up its vapor quality by 2 points! The Iceborn is also much more efficient than filtering your vapor with a bong, and allows you to blow massive frosty clouds. You can read our review of the Iceborn here! Reply Dan C July 14, 2015 Hey man, You can only use this unit with herbs, no liquids or concentrates as it could gum up the heating chamber Reply Theheadmare May 21, 2015 Already have a Solo.
