Atmos Magna Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The  quality of the Atmos Magna is pretty average for a wax vape pen. Other than the magnetic connection the other components that make up this device are run of the mill basic.

The battery it uses is low end and the atomizers it comes with are also very basic. Overall for the price this unit costs you get what you pay for and it does the trick. I do really like that the Magna comes with a glass mouthpiece.

Vapor Quality

The Magna produces good vapor for the basic battery and atomizer that it uses. The vapor quality and flavor are not high end and it’s not something that you will brag about but it’s also not a disappointment in relation to what you would expect from a very affordable wax pen.

The atomizer/coil system used is a quartz rod wrapped in titanium coils which is typical amongst low end pens made in the last few years. One thing that makes the overall feel of your draws stand out a bit more with the Magna is the glass mouthpiece. Glass is used to cool down your hit a fraction while also being cooler to the touch on your lips.

If you are looking for a more flavorful natural tasting draw you can use the lower end temperatures and if you want a quick more dense vapor hit than use the higher temperatures. The Magna has 3 default temperature settings which is nice to see and something that not all cheap costing pens include. The default temperatures for this unit is a guessing game without the actual temps noted anywhere. So the flexibility is a guess but depending how long you hold the fire button is where the unit gets hotter or not as hot with the duration of your draws.

Look and Feel

The Magna is a basic simple looking vape pen that has just one button and the top half contains the atomizer and the glass mouthpiece.

The device is shaped like a pen and is close to the size of a pen as well. I like how the top half is glass which allows you to see the vapor forming as you take your draw.

The Magna is a compact device that I would classify as discrete. It’s small enough to conceal in your pocket, carry bag or even in your hand while using it.

If you are out and about in the public and want to take a hit but want to remain unseen then try using the lower temperature and taking shorter quickdraws. If you have the higher temp on and take longer draws you will be producing more vapor.

Ease of Use

First things first – you should make sure the battery is charged, if it’s your first time using the device plug it in and allow it to charge fully. Second, you should power the device on and run it through a heat cycle without any wax in it to burn off any excess dust/chemicals from the manufacturing process.

To use the Magna you just need to tug off the mouthpiece from the atomizer which is magnetic as we touched on above. The fact that this is magnetic means you can load the oven quicker and also worry less about getting material stuck in the threads (threads being how most wax pens twist the mouthpiece off of the atomizer).

The atmos has 3 components that bring the device together, you have the base, the atomizer and the mouthpiece. When you have all 3 of these attached and the device is charged and has material in it you simply click the power button 5 times to start it up. When you are finished you do the same to turn it off. There is a safety feature that will auto shut off/standby (15 seconds) the device if you are holding the fire button down for too long. To change the temperature you just click the power button and you will cycle through them and each is noted by a different color.

The Magna is a portable device which is compact enough to easily carry around and enjoy throughout the day. The battery used is a 650 mAh which is common in lower end wax pens.

This type of battery is typically used because of its small size and low cost to keep the overall price of the vaporizer low.

The portability is not something that sets this pen apart from other pens since most wax pens are portable and have the same characteristics.

Overall the Magna performed as I thought it would and the overall build quality and feel were on par with what I assumed having known the price and that it was made by Atmos already. Atmos makes products that work and that you can buy for affordable prices.

If you are going to be vaping concentrates than I would say this is a great little wax device to purchase. Having said that there are a few other great pen options such as the Thunder 2.

If you are looking for a unit that will give you a rig like experience for waxes and water filtration for dry herb, we recommend checking out the Focusvape Tourist 2-in-1 vaporizer.
