Atmos Ruva Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The cost of this vaporizer being under $130 will make you think that the build quality would be less than it is. The Ruva however, is made with quality materials and packs a wide range of features that you typically will not find in other comparably priced vapes.

The Ruva uses vibration notifications to help monitor the device while it is in your pocket, which is a pretty important feature to help in the optimization of your material. It is far too often that people load there vaporizer only to miss an entire session when they get distracted for a moment or two.

Vapor Quality

The Ruva actually does produce decent vapor, but this could be do to the fact that it is a averagely built conduction device. Conduction vaporizers tend to create more vapor than convection vaporizers and this is a point where people seem to think one thing is more important than the other – that reason being vapor production over what the device is suppose to do.

If you are looking for a device that creates vapor the Ruva does do this. However, if you are looking for a more efficient vaporizer you may want to look at some of the convection device such as the Utillian 721.

Atmos Ruva Vaporizer Profile Shot

Look and Feel

The Ruva is a compact portable dry herb vaporizer with rubberized material that allows the device to feel comfortable in your hands while staying at a nice temperature. The vibration notifications are a feature that is very much under valued and when you first get a device that has this functionality it is tough to go back.

Imagine your phone did not have the vibration feature, it would immediately lose a few points. For a low to mid range dry herb vaporizer the Ruva is a descent device. If you are on a budget another low cost device that performs really well in the Utillian 420 which we recommend having a look at. The Utillian is compatible with the Zeus Iceborn – a popular accessory for cooling down draws.

The Ruva is as discreet as any compact portable vaporizer. The device fits in any pocket, does not make loud noises and has vibration notifications opposed to beeps.

The Ruva being a dry herb vaporizer will produce a bit of cannabis smell and also the fact that it uses conduction heating means it tends to have a more potent aroma than portable convection vaporizers.

If discretion is your end game the Ruva is just sub par and we suggest a unit like the Zeus Smite. The Ruva really shines in the category of affordability not overall performance and discreteness.

Ease of Use

The first thing you will need to do is make sure the battery is charged, if it’s your first time using the device make sure you plug it in and allow it to charge fully. Next, you should power the device on and run it through a heat cycle without any material in it to burn off any excess dust/chemicals from the manufacturing process. To load the Ruva you lift off the magnetic mouthpiece by pushing upward on it. When the mouthpiece is off you will see the quartz heating chamber which you load with your ground material.

Starting the Ruva should be very familiar if you have used a portable vaporizer in the past – you simply hold down the power button for 5 seconds. This is a built in safety feature to ensure that the vaporizer does not turn on in when it is not suppose to.

When the Ruva has been turned on and is in standby mode you can press the power button 3 times to begin heating to your previously set temperature or the default temperature. As the Ruva heats up you will see the temperature level rise on the OLED screen. When the Ruva has reached your set temperature it will show the text ‘ready’. Your session will last 3 minutes, after which the device will show the text ‘end of session’ text and begin to cool down.

The Atmos Ruva uses a 1800mAh lithium-ion battery which you will find in many of the more expensive devices. This battery gives you enough power for multiple vape sessions throughout the day.

The compact design and durable magnetic lid make the Ruva an easy device to carry around with you.

Warning: Not Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is not compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of compatible units, so we highly recommend considering a whip-compatible vaporizer to take advantage of this stellar ZEUS accessory item. All compatible vaporizers will have a compatibility notice.

Overall the Atmos Ruva is a good deal especially if you are on a budget. A comparable device that most would say outperforms the Ruva that is in the same ball park is the Utillian 420. The Utillian 420 is also a dry herb vaporizer that is very competitively priced. If you have not read up on the Utilian 420 we suggest you do so before making your decision on which vaporizer to buy.
