Boundless CFC 2.0 Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Most of the CFC 2.0 is made out of plastic, including the mouthpiece and the water pipe adaptor. That being said, this unit is considered a budget vape. Many comparable vaporizers are also made of plastic. If you are looking for a conscious product, this is not the device for you.

Although the majority of this boundless vaporizer is constructed of plastic, the heating chamber is not. Instead, boundless made the oven out of ceramic and hid it right underneath the mouthpiece.

The battery is a single 18650. Unfortunately, it is not removable. This means you will need to keep a USB charger handy. If you are an iPhone user, that’s just one more charging cable to keep in your car. If you are an eCig user, it’s a wasted opportunity for these multi-use batteries.

Vapor Quality

As with most conduction-heated vaporizers, the CFC 2.0 produces clouds free of that infamous burnt flavor. In fact, the oven can heat your botanicals anywhere between 140 degrees and 446 degrees Fahrenheit. That’s pretty impressive for an inexpensive vaporizer.

If you choose to use the included water pipe adaptor, you can significantly cool your vapor. Not only that, but the addition of water also creates a smoother cloud profile in your mouth. Just make sure you don’t get the adaptor stuck in your glass pipe.

Look and Feel

The Boundless CFC 2.0 is not the most beautiful budget vaporizer on the market. However, it looks like it has come to do its job and do it well.

Although made of plastic, the grip design adds to comfort as well as grasp. For what it is, the 2.0 looks and feels like we would have imagined.

In terms of size, larger palms will be able to hide more of the unit and draw less attention. However, this unit is very indiscreet in that it won’t vibrate or make noise. It also doesn’t draw many eyes in terms of the aesthetics. The dull color certainly won’t turn heads.

If you are looking for a vaporizer you can carry undetected in your pants pocket, the CFC 2.0 is not for you. In fact, it’s wider than the original. It also weighs a little more than some other discreet options on the market. You may have to invest in a belt and some baggy pants!

Ease of Use

The first thing to do is an initial burn-off. That means charging and running the Boundless CFC just as you would during a normal session. This process will get any undesirable taste out of the unit prior to real use. If you opt out, you will most definitely have a few funky tasting draws.

Now you are ready to put your CFC 2.0 to use! Luckily, anyone and their grandpa can figure out how to use this vaporizer. In fact, it’s so easy you probably won’t even have to bust out the full-color instruction manual. Luckily, it’s there if you do!

The hardest thing about using the second generation CFC is loading the material. The bottom of the CFC 2.0 is rounded. Since the underside isn’t flat, you will have to figure out how to stand it up. This is where a small funnel can come in handy.

The Boundless CFC 2.0 isn’t too tall (131mm), and doesn’t weigh too much (.13lbs). However, the width can be a little much for smaller hands. Bigger hands will find the unit easier to use on the go, as well as easier to grip.

Overall, the Boundless CFC 2.0 is a decent entry-level herb vaporizer. The flavor isn’t mind-blowing, but the clouds are decently smooth and can be improved upon by changing the temperature or adding a water pipe. We would have liked to see less plastic and a more compact profile, like we see in the Utillian 420, our favorite budget vaporizer, but the CFC is a decent starting unit as well.
