Classic Volcano Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The Volcano has some of the best build quality of any vaporizer on the market. They’re not made in China in some mass-produced fashion, but are hand assembled in Germany from high quality parts making the Volcano a vaporizer you’ll treasure for years to come.

They used the best quality materials they could find in putting the contents of the box together. We’ve seen some low-quality bags in our day, but nothing beats the original Volcano bags. They’re made out of high quality polyester that is heat resistant to prevent the bag from melting when exposed to heat from regular use. This means your bags will last longer before you have to change them out, which can save you a great deal of money in the long run.

Vapor Quality

The Classic Volcano has amazing vapor quality. Temperature is controlled by the analogue dial and the unit quickly heats up to your desired temperature. The Classic reaches temperatures up to 226 degrees Celsius (439 degrees Fahrenheit). This temperature range is perfect for your choice of either dried botanical or concentrates.

What really makes the Volcano stand above the rest is the wide heating chamber which can not only hold a sizable amount of your botanical, but has the added advantage of providing a wide surface area to more evenly heat your botanical. The unit also used convection to heat your botanical, making for the purist vaporizing experience you could hope for.

Look and Feel

The Classic Volcano is an amazingly well built unit. It feels very stable, and is very solid in construction. The metal enclosure serves to not only improve the durability of the unit, but also give it a polished, high quality look. The fact that the unit is shaped like a volcano doesn’t hurt its look either.

Ease of Use

Ease of use is one area the Volcano thrives in. It’s known as one of the easiest vaporizers to pick up and use right away. The procedure is simple: fill up your heating bowl, close it up, heat the unit, and attach the valve to the vaporizer. After engaging the fan for a few seconds your balloon will fill up with delicious vapor. Just turn the fan off, attach the mouthpiece, and enjoy your balloon. There is a difference in difficulty between the solid and easy valve sets. If you’re looking for a plug-and-play experience, the easy valve will more than satisfy you. If you’re worried about replacement bag costs, the solid valve will be a more cost effective solution, but you’ll have to assemble the bags yourself. Check out our How to Use the Solid Valve and How to Use the Easy Valve Videos on Youtube.

The Classic Volcano will vaporize botanical perfectly, but it also does a great job with oils or waxes. If you’re a concentrate lover, you’re going to want to hang on to the unit’s Liquid Pads. These pads suck up your oils and waxes, stretching them over the surface area of the pad. They prevent your concentrates from dropping through to the heating chamber where they could cause damage. These liquid pads can also be used to fill up your heating bowl if you’re just using a small amount of botanical.

The screens that come with your Classic Volcano do a good job of keeping herb dust out of the air pathway, but if you have lung problems and may be irritated by dust sized pieces of herb dust flying into your balloon, it’s recommended to pick up a fine screen pack. They tend to be much more efficient than the regular screens in this regard.

The Volcano doesn’t use a whip system like some other vaporizers, but rather fills up bags with vapor. Bags are preferred by connoisseurs because they’re such an easy way to consume the vapor. They are great to have for parties or in any situation where you’d have multiple people over. With the old school tube system you’re pretty much tied to the unit, but with balloons you can fill them up and take them anywhere you like. Just keep in mind vapor in balloons should be consumed within 30 minutes or they will develop a residue.

Warning: Not Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is not compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of compatible units, so we highly recommend considering a whip-compatible vaporizer to take advantage of this stellar ZEUS accessory item. All compatible vaporizers will have a compatibility notice.

Because of its awesome manufacturing and vapor quality, we must say that the Volcano is one of our favorite vaporizers on the market. We’re not the only ones that think this, as it’s been having success for over ten years. They’re built to last, and your friends will love you for having one when they’re over hanging out. Well designed and mighty, do yourself a favor and invest in the Volcano experience.
