Dazzvape Acus Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The Dazzvape Acus is manufactured in China. Not all Chinese-made vaporizers are bad quality, but this one is. It just feels flimsy in the hand. We don’t think you would own your pen for long before things began to go wrong.

The atomizer is an example of this. In just a short amount of time, you will have spent more on your chambers than the unit itself! Not to mention the atomizer is made from what we call fritted glass.

In fact, this cheap material could be dangerous. If you scrape the chamber in any way, the glass can shave off. You definitely don’t want to inhale small shards of glass!

Another bad part of the Acus build quality is the battery. It is rare to see a 350mAh battery in a vaporizer, and for good reason. It is large and doesn’t pack much power. The only reason a company would include a battery like this is to cut cost.

Vapor Quality

Overall, the vapor quality of the Dazzvape Acus is horrible. It is way below average, and even beginners will question what’s going on! There are actually a few reasons why the quality of the clouds is so bad.

  • The atomizer leaves you with a burnt taste
  • The cloud size doesn’t make up for the bad taste – they are small
  • Nectar collector tip produces the same quality as the atomizer
  • The heated vapor passes over unprotected electronics – this could leave you inhaling fumes

Look and Feel

The body of the pen looks nice, and it comes in 5 colors. You can have your choice of black/gold, silver, pink, black/silver, and green. Unfortunately, once you get the device in your hands, it feels as low quality as it is.

This is a pen, meaning it looks just like an eCig vape. The Acus is the same length as a writing pen, so it can easily pass as one.

However, the size of the unit also works against discreetness. It is much more difficult to conceal than a more compact pen. Many pockets aren’t large enough to completely hide such a long length.

Ease of Use

This is the area where the Acus really shines. Whether or not you’ve ever used a vape pen before won’t matter. Even beginners will catch on in a flash! Here’s how easy it is to work this Dazzvape.

There are 2 different ways you can load the atomizer: as a nectar collector or as a standard vaporizer pen. This means you can either dip the hot tip into the wax, or you can place the wax into your device.

To preheat the unit, click the button twice. There is only 1, so no confusion there! When about 10 seconds has passed, hold the power button down for a few more. At about 15 seconds, take your draw. And that’s all it takes to operate the Dazzvape Acus.

Unfortunately, cleaning is a nightmare. The atomizers are easy, but the vapor path is difficult. You will spend more time than you’d like trying to clean it out.

In fact, it will need its first clean relatively quickly. The clogging gets pretty bad pretty fast, and air flow is reduced. Get ready to use a lot of cotton swabs.

This unit is extremely portable. It doesn’t weigh much, so it won’t be a noticeable addition to your backpack. In addition, the size makes it more convenient to carry than some of the bulkier models.

The thing that takes away from the portability of the Acus is how bad the battery life is. If you are an all day kind of smoker, you will have to recharge more than you’d like.

Overall, we would not recommend the Dazzvape Acus to even our enemies. This is one of the worst vaporizers on the market today, and it should be illegal to sell such a bad product! Luckily, there are plenty of amazing, well-working, discreet wax pens that are also low cost.

There are tons of vape pens on the market and some for every budget, you may find it helpful to check out our vape pen section where we review the top devices in the industry. One popular device that may be worth looking into fits most budgets is the Thunder 2.
