JWell, a Paris based company is known for their trendy starter vaping products that are mostly mouth to lung devices. Their focus on the tight draw, mouth to lung products is actually a smart move since most beginners want a perfect simulation in order for them to easily transition into the world of vaping, and there will always be a market for these type of devices. There are a lot of pod style devices on the market but JWell has a somewhat unique approach on all of their devices and the La Carte is no exception.

Another thing JWell is known for is their pursuit of elegance and style. The conventional way of designing vaping products is not in their book and it is pretty obvious when you look at all their products. The La Carte’s design is not your typical pod style vaporizer.

It sports a wide and flat build which resembles a card. The design is somewhat familiar though, as some pod systems have the same look but what the La Carte has that others don’t is the premium feeling when you hold it. The La Carte is a small device but it has weight and feels very solid.

Even the finishes on all the color options feel very good in the hand but the one I like the most is the matte black version which has this soft rubber kind of feel. Other color options include a brushed stainless steel, gold, and white.

When it comes to functionality, the La Carte works just like any pod system on the market but it has a totally different style. Its mouthpiece is placed on the corner since the pod is magnetically attached to the side of the body.

The pod might seem big at first since it has the same height as the main body but it only has an e liquid capacity of 2 ml. It is refillable and filling it with e liquid is pretty straightforward as you only need to remove the rubber gasket covering the fill port.

The body has a built-in battery that has a capacity of 400 mah which is surprising since it is super thin but the more surprising feature of the La Carte is the USB type-C port on the bottom, which makes this device a new step forward to the vaping technology.

When it comes to charging vaping devices, I really don’t like those that need a proprietary charger and I wish all devices have a USB port at least. But the La Cart having a USB type-C makes it even more convenient since most new phones now use it which means you can just use a phone charger.

Another benefit of the USB type-C is that it charges really fast and the La Carte can be fully charged in under 20 minutes. The La Carte is a draw activated device so it doesn’t have a fire button but it has a power switch on the side. It also has a small LED notification light on the front which also acts as the battery indicator.

Vapor Quality

The La Carte has a single coil build inside which has a resistance of 1.6 ohm. It is solely made for mouth to lung vaping as it has a tight draw and it doesn’t have an adjustable airflow but the flavor and vapor you can get from it are exceptional as the draw is super smooth and very consistent.

Another thing I like about how the La Carte vapes are that you won’t get any dry hits as long as there is enough e liquid in it. The coil and cotton are placed on the bottom of the pod and it will always be saturated with e liquid. Just like any pod systems, the La Carte is optimized to be used with nicotine salt based e liquids or any high nicotine e liquids due to its tight draw and low resistance build.

Versatility

Versatility

The La Carte is very simple when it comes to functionality. It doesn’t have any fancy modes or settings just like any pod systems. Even though it is lacking in that aspect, its styling and design are its strong features and can be considered as one of its selling points.

The La Carte is just like a dress watch or a jewelry that you can bring to a fancy gathering and show off to your friends and acquaintances. It actually also comes with a leather pouch which gives it a different premium look.

Portability

Portability

The La Carte is only 80 mm in height, 46 mm in length, and 9 mm in width. It is a very portable device as it is almost the size of a credit card.

It is a perfect vaping companion wherever you go and you won’t be worrying too much about its battery power since it can be charged rapidly thanks to its USB type-C port.

Conclusion

The JWell La Carte is one of those devices that can be considered as one of the best pod systems on the market. The flavor and vapor it can produce are outstanding for a mouth to lung device and you won’t get any dry hits. It has a USB type-C port with super fast charging and a big 400 mah battery which can actually last you a whole day of vaping.

Aside from that, it has an elegant styling and design which is to be expected from JWell. If there is one thing I would like to have on the La Carte, it is a bigger pod capacity. I understand that they have to make it TPD compliant but having a bigger pod capacity can make it the perfect pod system in my opinion.
