Ooze Drought Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

In terms of build quality, the Ooze Drought feels weighty yet light in the hands. The body itself is made of aluminum, and the mouthpiece is made of silicone. Unfortunately, we expected a bit better manufacturing quality.

The mouthpiece feels like plastic. Furthermore, the lack of cooling path makes the vapor come off as harsh. Finally, the rubber gasket seal is held in by friction alone.

In terms of battery power, this unit leaves much to be desired. The Drought features a 1650mAh cell. Not only is it less powerful than necessary, it isn’t even exchangeable.

The perfect solution would have been using a removable 18650 battery. That way, you wouldn’t have to wait or charge between sessions. Both of the Drought’s premium competitors, the DaVinci IQ and the Zeus Smite, offer better batteries or battery life.

Vapor Quality

The precise temperature controls range from 320°F and 410°F. This guarantees any vaper will be able to get the clouds they crave. Whether you want intense vapor or light puffs, this unit will deliver.

However, the air heating technology makes the Ooze Drought vaporizer a strictly conduction based device.

Overall, we found the draw quality is average, as is the flavor. Additionally, the short path from the heating unit to the mouth makes the inhale less smooth than expected. With that being said, you will receive consistent vapor quality that never fails to get the job done.

Look and Feel

The look and feel of this product can best be described as compact and portable. It also feels nice in your hands, and fits ergonomically in most palms.

The Ooze Drought has 3 buttons: the power button, and two temperature control arrows. These two controls flank the LED screen, letting you easily see the temperature while you change it.

Furthermore, you can buy this unit in 4 cool colors: mint, yellow, silver, and black.

A full 4 inches tall, the Drought will make others think you are in an herb drought, guaranteed! No one will notice this compact, tiny little unit when you close it inside your palm.

What’s more, the precise temperature controls allow you to create as much or as little vapor as you choose. This comes in handy when the sight of white puffy clouds isn’t quite appropriate.

Ease of Use

The Ooze Drought is super easy to use, especially if this isn’t your first rodeo with dry flower vaporizers. To load, simply pop off the mouthpiece to expose the heating chamber underneath. Now, use the included loading tool to place your herb directly inside the oven.

Replace the mouthpiece and you are good to go! In terms of cleaning and maintenance, this is one of the easiest designs to keep clear. All you need are some cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol, and only the chamber and the mouthpiece need tending to.

Turning on the unit is easy. All you have to do is press the power button 5 times to turn on. The little arrow buttons underneath controls the temperature that you want to bake your botanicals. You can see what you are doing on the convenient LED screen.

One inconvenient aspect of the Drought is the sterilization process you should go through before the first use. Apparently, this is to get rid of any oils still hanging around from the manufacturing process. Since the company does not want you inhaling without sterilizing first, do not skip this step!

In terms of portability, this little gadget rocked our socks off! Not only is this unit 4 inches long, it is also extremely lightweight. The aluminum body allows you to throw this in your pocket and go anywhere.

The 5-minute automatic shutoff allows you to carry your Ooze Drought around with confidence you won’t catch your pants on fire!

Overall, we found the Ooze Drought to be decent value. It is super compact, produces good vapor, and is easy to use. Plus, it doesn’t cost as much as some equally good yet more expensive dry herb vaporizers. However, when push comes to shove if you are looking for a cheap introductory vaporizer I would choose the Utillian 420 and if you are looking at one that is priced similar but has much better battery life I suggest the Zeus Smite Plus.

This review matches my own appraisal, except for the battery comments: I’ve never had any problems with the battery life, but I guess a removable battery would be convenient.
