Plenty Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

As mentioned, the Plenty vaporizer comes from Storz and Bickel, makers of arguably the best vaporizer on the planet. It should therefore come as no surprise that the Plenty is also built with quality in mind. While many vaporizers are constructed cheaply, Storz and Bickel make all of their products in Germany, paying special attention to design and using quality components.

The Plenty is a perfect example of this philosophy, from the cooling coil to the large heating chamber. The vaporizer is primarily mechanical, which really decreases the opportunities for problems. This even includes the trigger on the handle that controls the automatic shutoff. Anyone buying this vaporizer can rest easy knowing they have a solid piece of German engineering at its finest.

Vapor Quality

Once again, we have a category that the manufacturer is known to excel at. The Plenty is no exception, and offers one of the best ‘cost-to-vapor-quality’ ratios on the market. Air is drawn through the unit by the user, heating your favorite dried botanicals via convection along the way. The air enters through the base and is then pulled over the heating element. After being heated, the air passes through the chamber of botanicals, meaning you get a pure convection based vapor. This unit also has 7 temperature settings to choose from, varying between 37 degrees Celsius to 215 degrees Celsius, so you really get some nice options in terms of the vapor density you prefer.

A very nice additional feature is the stainless steel cooling coil that connects the chamber and the user’s mouth. The metal helps to suck the heat from the air, significantly decreasing the temperature of the vapor before it reaches your lungs. This means you can have an incredibly dense vapor, from the higher temperature settings, with none of the unpleasantness of hot air.

Look and Feel

One look at the Plenty and anyone will be intrigued. With the combination of a black and orange body and the curly cooling coil, the unit looks like some type of strange tool. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on the user, but most people seem to love it. The Plenty also feels solid in the hand, thanks in large part to the handle. This handle makes it so passing the vaporizer around isn’t the nerve wracking experience it otherwise can be.

There is also an analog temperature display on the front of the unit. While many vaporizers opt for a digital display, the mechanical construction of the Plenty is a huge reason this vaporizer is so durable. Perhaps it is because so many other units opt for either a digital temperature display or none at all, but the analog display on this one really adds to the overall design.

Ease of Use

The Plenty is an extremely easy piece of equipment to operate. The chamber and mouthpiece both screw on to the base of the unit, and other than that all you have to do is flip the on switch and pick a temperature. While the temperature pre-sets can be frustrating for some people who want more customization, they do make for a very easy and ‘hard to screw up’ experience. Simply pick the pre-set and corresponding temperature you like best, and let it heat up. If you ever want to move the temperature up or down, you just spin the temperature wheel one click in the appropriate direction and you’re done.

The handle is also a nice feature to mention here. While forgetting to turn units off after use can be a very real problem for some people, the Plenty will automatically shut off if the trigger on the handle hasn’t been pressed for a while. Again, this can take the stress out of passing a vape around a group of people. Even if someone unfamiliar with them has it last and leaves it on, the Plenty will take care of itself.

The Plenty is pretty much a ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of vape. The only means of use is manually drawing air through the cooling coil. So, if you are looking for a vaporizer that can handle bags, you need to keep looking. There are no additional accessories owners can purchase to alter the vaping experience either.

There is a small pad that can be used for oils or waxes that fits nicely into the chamber, and this comes with the vaporizer. This pad can also be used when solo vaping to fill a half-filled chamber. By placing the pad on top of your botanicals, you can ensure they do not move around the chamber as you move the vaporizer around in your hand.

The Plenty is powered through a power cord which significantly cuts down on its reach and portability. This is still a great unit to enjoy with friends, but owners should be aware that it would be difficult to pass around large groups. Using with two or three friends in close proximity is probably the best use for this vape.

With that said, this can still be an improvement over using a whip with stationary vape that is not handheld. Often times the whip requires you to lean towards wherever the vaporizer is located in order to reach it. With the Plenty, you bring the vaporizer to you.

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

At the end of the day, the Plenty is a fantastic vaporizer. Two of the most important aspects any vaporizer can have is being able to produce excellent vapor and having a solid construction. The Plenty excels in both of these areas. With a nice range of temperature presets, convection style heating, and a large chamber to fill with your favorite dried botanicals, the vapor produced is identical to the Volcano, Storz and Bickel’s main desktop vape. The design is excellent, ensuring a pure convection-heated vapor that is pleasantly cooled from travelling through the cooling coil.

So, if the Plenty is a vape that strikes your fancy and you want to experience this unique hand held stationary for yourself, you can get it tax free, with free shipping from the authorized vaporizer store we recommend.

We also wanted to suggest you check out a cool, new the vapor filtration device, called the ZEUS Iceborn that makes a great addition to the Plenty. We recently reviewed it and were blown away by how it cools down even some of the hottest vapour with ice, bumping up its vapor quality by 2 points! The Iceborn is also much more efficient than filtering your vapor with a bong, and allows you to blow massive frosty clouds. You can read our review of the Iceborn here!

This thing is very poorly designed — there is no base or stand, the super-thick power cord comes right at you when you hold it, and the temp gauge is on the back side, away from the other controls.

It definitely is a bit cumbersome, but some people really like the Plenty, as a side note you can use the included brush as a kickstand to stand it up.
