Build Quality

Build Quality

You don’t have to wonder what your portable vaporizer is made of anymore! The Pulsar Ohm Wax Pen was created completely of ceramic. Even the donut coil atomizer and mouthpiece! The standard 510 threading allows you to use the Ohm Dry Herb Atomizer on top of the unit.

Or, you can use the wax chamber and mouthpiece combination on top of another unit. No matter what you decide, you won’t have any problems because the threading is spot on.

We were very impressed by the battery quality and life of the Ohm. Whereas many other inexpensive vapor pens only include a 650mAh battery, the Pulsar doesn’t waver in its promise to quality.

This vaporizer boasts a 1100mAh battery that can last for about a week with moderate use. Overall, the Ohm lives up to the build quality standards of previous Pulsar products.

Vapor Quality

Unfortunately, we have been left in the dark on a huge factor affecting vapor quality: temperature. No manual was included, and we were not able to find any information on the heat level reached by the Pulsar Ohm. Regardless, the vapor quality of this concentrate pen is not too shabby.

This is especially true for such an affordable, compact wax vaporizer. We attribute this to the excellent ceramic donut heating oven. It warms up the concentrates evenly and completely, meaning you no longer have to wonder if some material wasn’t vaporized.

If you are someone looking for thick clouds and decent flavor, a long and deep inhale will set you straight. For those into better flavor and less visible vapor, shorten your inhale.

Since there is a lack of temperature control, there isn’t too great of a variation between sessions. However, that could be a good thing for vapers that are into a consistent experience.

Look and Feel

The black and white colors and design of this unit are reminiscent of Star Wars. It’s obvious you aren’t exactly paying for beauty with this unit. In terms of feel, Pulsar did not disappoint with the Ohm Wax Pen.

This completely ceramic unit feels sturdy and well made. While not exactly ergonomic, it is easy and comfortable to hold.

The Pulsar Ohm Wax Pen is decently discreet. Part of what helps is the lack of a traditional mouthpiece. This little contraption could be anything, really.

The only thing that might give it away is taking a hit. Those familiar with eCig pens will probably think nothing more even if you do use it.

Ease of Use

The Pulsar Ohm Wax Pen is extremely easy to use, even for first-timers. Simply unscrew the mouthpiece, and put it aside. Using the silicone-tipped tool, place your concentrate inside the chamber. Close it back up, screw the mouthpiece/chamber on top of the unit, and you are ready to begin puffing!

There is only 1 button, so the rest should be a breeze. It is a simple 5 clicks to turn on the Ohm. From there, you can begin heating your concentrate by holding down the button. When you are finished, another 5 presses and you can pocket your Pulsar safely.

Even cleaning this device is easy. Just unscrew the atomizer chamber, including the mouthpiece. This is all you have to clean, so grab your isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs.

If you aren’t in a hurry, you can let the whole thing soak in a small glass of isopropyl. Don’t forget to wash the pieces before you put them back to use!

The Ohm Wax Pen is as portable a unit as the next compact vape. Slip it in your purse, your pocket, or your backpack and go about your day. The ceramic construction reduces the need to worry about breakage.

The only downside of having an exposed mouthpiece is all the pocket lint that could enter. If you don’t want to breathe in whatever was at the bottom of your purse, give it a quick once-over before you use it!

As it turns out, the Pulsar Ohm Wax Pen doesn’t need a lot of extra bells and whistles. In fact, we were actually impressed by the cloud quality of such an inexpensive portable vaporizer. For anyone new to concentrates or needing a simple on the go pen, the Pulsar Ohm could work very well. However, the lack of temperature control and other options may not be enough to keep more seasoned wax vapers satisfied.
