Smok has just released a new powerful mod called the E Priv and I got to say, this is a very masculine looking mod. It is highly inspired by a Ferrari engine, a V12 Ferrari engine no less and I am pretty sure car enthusiasts and fanatics will love the design. It also has a new chip inside that brings a new user interface with faster response times and shorter operation delay to bring the best vaping experience possible. It is paired with the TFV12 Prince tank which surprisingly has a new set of coils that utilize mesh as their core.

Build Quality

Smok has been very reliable when it comes to the build quality of their products and the Smok E Priv is no exception. The E Priv is made of premium zinc alloy and mod feels very solid like a tank. Having a mod as solidly built as this has a few cons too as it is on the bigger side than most mods on the market.

It actually might be too heavy for some people as it weighs almost 300 grams with the batteries inside. Size and weight aside, the E Priv’s design is kind of unique as Smok was inspired by a V12 Ferrari engine. If the E Priv is laid down and you are looking at it from the top, you will instantly realize that it really looks like an engine.

It is kind of funny though as Smok really went all out by putting a V12 marking on both sides of the E Priv, letting everyone know that it is a V12 engine. It still kind of makes sense as the E Priv is undeniably a very powerful mod. It has a maximum output of 230 watts which in my opinion, is an overly high power limit as I am pretty sure no one vapes at that 230 watts.

It is powered by 2 18650 batteries and I think Smok should have gone for dual 20700 or even 21700 just to accentuate its design. The Smok E Priv has a new chip inside called the ARM-M4 that is a big upgrade from their previous chip.

It features a faster fire response which is comparable to the Gene chip and the Omni board. It also features a new display interface that you will be able to see on its big 1.45 inch high definition display as well as a more efficient screen refresh rate that lets you actually feel that it is faster than Smok’s previous products.

The Smok E Priv kit comes with the TFV12 Prince tank and if you are familiar with their tanks, it is one of the best tank atomizers on the market right now and it utilizes a new set of V12 mesh coils. The Smok E Priv kit is available in 5 different color options and you get it in red, gold, blue, green and silver.

Vapor Quality

The Smok E Priv kit comes with 2 new coil heads, the V12 Prince Dual Mesh and the V12 Prince Max Mesh. The V12 Prince Dual Mesh has a resistance of 0.2 ohm that is rated to use between 50 watts to 80 watts and the V12 Prince Max Mesh has a resistance of 0.17 ohm that is rated to use between 70 watts to 130 watts.

Both coils as their name suggests uses a mesh coil and the only difference is that the Prince Dual Mesh has a dual mesh coil build while the Prince Max Mesh has a large single mesh coil build. Compared to normal kanthal coil heads, mesh coils tend to have a larger heating area and a faster heating speed which greatly helps with vapor production.

Normally when you have a coil build that is on a super low resistance, although it produces more vapor, it diminishes the flavor of the any e liquid you use, but not with a mesh coil. Since it has a larger heating area, the saturated cotton around it will be heated evenly, therefore, producing more flavor.

The advantage of these V12 Mesh coils over other normal coil heads is that they can cater to both the cloud chasers and the flavor maniacs.

Versatility

Versatility

The E Priv mod can output up to 230 watts of power which gives you a big headroom of power limit so you can use whatever coil build you want to use. It also supports temperature control and memory mode so you can further personalize your vaping experience.

The TFV12 Prince tank has a dual adjustable airflow which means, you can set it as restrictive as you want it to be for a nice and tight mouth to lung drag, or as open as you want it to be if you are more of an airy drag type of vaper.

Portability

Portability

The E Priv mod has an ergonomic design but it is undeniably a big and heavy mod. With the Prince tank on, it is 148 mm in height, 47 mm in length and 31.88 mm in width.

Conclusion

If you don’t mind a big and heavy dual 18650 device then I am pretty sure you will like the new Smok E Priv mod. Smok’s improvement on its chip is already a winner and the TFV12 Prince tank already has a reputation as one of the best tanks on the market. Its design is unique and simply fascinating that if you are a car guy or gal, the E Priv might be a sure buy.
