Smok is back with another vape kit and as you guessed it, it is a new pod style vaporizer. Smok seems to be on a roll when it comes to design and production as we just recently reviewed the Smok Nord, which is also a pod system. But instead of just following up to the design of the Smok Nord like what they did previously, they made an entirely new style and design which is very interesting as the Smok Mico takes the pod system design into a new perspective.

The looks of the Smok Mico is very hip and stylish. I am a big fan of resin designs and the Smok Mico has resin panels on both sides of the device. The Smok Mico comes in 7 different color options and each of the color variants has this unique glossy multicolored resin design.

The Smok Mico is square in shape which is also a very unique design when it comes to pod systems. The device is pretty solid for a very lightweight device and it doesn’t feel cheap when holding it as it is made of zinc alloy.

Although it doesn’t look like your typical pod system and might be even mistaken for a starter hybrid kit, it is a pod system through and through.

It doesn’t have a fire or settings button, but it has is an on/off switch which for me, is a very necessary switch for devices like this. The Smok Mico has an automatic draw activated feature and even though this feature is fairly safe in general, the power switch adds another layer of protection for accidental firing just in case.

I like more safety features on my devices and I believe most of the vapers do so the power switch is a big plus for me. Aside from the power switch, there is a small LED light on the side for the battery indicator, a USB port on the bottom for charging, and an e liquid window on the front and back.

Like most pod systems, the Smok Mico is comprised of the pod and the body. The pod is refillable and has an e liquid capacity of 1.7 ml which is a tad smaller than the normal pods and the body has a built-in battery that has a capacity of 700 mah.

This is actually surprising considering the size of the device and it will surely last you a whole day of casual vaping without charging.

Smok is actually generous enough to include 2 pods in the kit which I hope all companies do. The first included pod has a mesh coil build in it that has a resistance of 0.8 ohm and the second pod has a normal coil build that has a resistance of 1 ohm.

The Smok Mico has a power output of 10 to 26 watts which is actually plenty for a pod system. The mesh coil performs really great when if you want to have a little more vapor production and an overall warmer vape. This is due to the mesh coil’s faster heating process and lower resistance.

The regular coil is also pretty good for a mouth to lung vaping style as it has a balanced flavor and vapor production. The Smok Mico has a tight and restrictive drag so don’t expect it to produce clouds of vapor but the flavor production on both coils are excellent.

Smok Mico side view

There is nothing really to expect from a pod system aside from it being a mouth to lung device. Pod systems are made as a beginner’s gateway to the world of vaping and help them quit smoking by simulating how a cigarette drag feels.

The Smok Mico is exactly just that, a beginner device meant for a mouth to lung vaping style.

The Smok Mico is only 56.3mm in height, 46.5mm in length and 14.8mm in width. It is actually thicker than most pod systems but it still a tiny device nonetheless. It is square in shape to actually fit a bigger battery and due to its low height profile, you can easily put it in your pocket.

The battery also lasts a whole day or more depending on your vaping style which is a big pro when you are out and about as you don’t need to worry about it dying out in the middle of the day.

Smok Mico inclined view

The Smok Mico is going to be one of my recommendations when it comes to pod systems. It has an excellent build and design and it performs really well in terms of flavor and vapor production. It ticks all the right boxes when it comes to a beginner device or even just a mouth to lung device. It has a battery which is bigger than most pod systems and a refillable pod.

It also has an extra safety feature in the form of a power switch which most pod systems don’t have. The one thing Smok could improve though is the pod capacity. The normal 2 ml capacity on most pod systems are actually really low and the Smok Mico even has a smaller capacity of 1.7 ml which is slightly disappointing.
