Today we’re taking a look at the Battleship, by Snoop Dogg Pounds. This glass house is relatively new, but their high quality design, incredible packaging and high quality features have drawn quite a bit of attention. The Battleship is the brand’s flagship bubbler. Not only is it full of diffusion, it’s multifunctional, meaning your can use it with both herbs and wax. All these features come in at fairly low price. This piece was definitely crafted to draw attention and make a name for the brand. When a brand makes a statement like that, it’s worth looking into. I spent some time with the Snoop Dogg Pounds Batteship in order to see if this piece is the bargain it seems to be.

  1. Attractive

Snoop Dogg Pounds Battleship Review: Breakdown

Quality

Build Quality

Build Quality

The build quality on this piece is far superior to what you’ll find in similarly priced pieces. The whole piece is one solid piece of glass. There is no weak point where joined pieces meet. Instead of the 3 mm glass I anticipated, the Battleship is composed of thick, 5 mm glass.

This makes all the difference in the world when you’re dealing with small pieces. This piece feels solid in your hands. I feel comfortable that it will survive unexpected bumps and short drops. The base is incredibly thick, meaning that the bubbler is very bottom heavy.

This piece is sturdy enough to leave out on a table or desk, even when it isn’t full of water. The accessories are high quality, and useful. The glass is 5 mm thick, and connection points are of finely frosted glass. The piece does not come with any keck clips, so you’ll have to add your own. The joints are 14.5 mm, which is an easy size to purchase.

Smoke Quality

Smoke Quality

This piece produced midsized clouds of thick, cool smoke. This bubbler has three percolators. The smoke first filters through water at the base of the chamber. The fill level is low, so it doesn’t require much draw strength to pull a thick plume. Then, the smoke goes through a tornado percolator, which sends it spinning through still more water.

This further cools the smoke. It then rises through the infamous honeycomb perc. These particular percs are notorious for providing maximum surface area contact between water and smoke. A honeycomb perc cools smoke extremely fast and allows for maximum hit sizes. The Battleship sends smoke through yet another tornado percolator before you inhale your hit.

The chamber is perfectly sized. Mature smokers will find that they are able to fill the chamber several times without losing steam. Less experienced smokers are able to monitor the size of the hit they are taking and restrict themselves via a modestly sized chamber. The result is smooth, cool, controllable hits, ideal for a social situation.

Design

look-and-feel

Look and Feel

This piece is priced within a very broad segment of the market. There are endless variations on water pipes and bubblers at this price point. The fact that this is a multifunctional piece definitely adds to its appeal, and makes it an impressive bang for your buck.

Smoking accessories are often inexpensive, but they can add up quickly, so the fact that these multifunctional accessories will also increase the range of various other compatible pieces definitely adds to my particular assessment of value.

These modular accessories are a standard size which increase the utility of every other piece you own. I’m a big fan of that particular value increase.

Ease of Maintenance

Ease of Maintenance

This is a complicated piece to own. It’s certainly sturdy. If you clip the glass joints as soon as you open it, you won’t have any major maintenance issues. That being said, this piece (which desperately needs keck clips) doesn’t come with them. Glass of this standard should be kept clean.

Residue and buildup are incredibly unsightly on this sort of glass. Any particulate buildup is going to cling to the honeycomb percolator first, reducing efficacy and harshing your smoke. This means that you have to clean this piece well, and you must do so on a regular basis.

In order to maintain cleanliness, I’d recommend an alcohol-salt rinse after every use. If you don’t clean it regularly, the honeycomb percolator is going to clog, and you’ll have to use a sizable amount of commercial cleanser in order to clean it. It will take quite a bit of effort and it won’t be cheap.

Conclusion

IIf this piece was designed for dry herb only, it would still be an incredible deal, but it may be even better for wax and concentrates. The additional accessories and the functionality that they add to the unit makes the Battleship an incredible flagship for the Snoop Dogg Pounds Brand. When you receive the box, you instantly feel that you’ve bought a quality product. Every piece is neatly contained in its own compartment. The colors are bright and glossy. It feels like someone spent a lot of time making sure that this product could own the market. And it does. This bubbler has incredible features, and multifunctionality. It comes with all of the equipment you need in a beautiful box that also doubles as a storage place. It’s attractive, utilitarian, and comes at a fair price for this type of craftsmanship. This bubbler is a great purchase.

How much water do you have to put? I think I’m using it wrong because the smoke it’s not cool, it burns a little.

What you’re going to want to do is completely fill the bottom chamber and then take a hard draw to pull some of that water into the upper chambers, that way you get water filtration in several spots and not just one. Hope this helps.
