Hello, and thanks for taking the time to read another Vapesterdam review. today we’re talking about the Snoop Dogg Pounds Starship. This is yet another high tech, gorgeous piece from Snoop Dogg Pounds. I’m quite intrigued by this brand. Instead of a traditional “anything goes” unboxing experience, this brand is geared up to change the game entirely, providing a level of sophistication that is common among luxury electronics. As soon as I took a look at this piece, I was excited to try it.

Snoop Dogg Pounds Starship Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

Quality is written all over this glass from the moment you start to unbox it. The whole thing is made from heavy, super thick glass.

The piece is dense, and it settles into your hand in a manner that makes it seem unlikely to break.

The features are all sculpted out of this individual piece of glass.

Instead of appearing fragile and delicate, this piece makes it very clear that it was designed to avoid points of failure.

Smoke Quality

Smoke Quality

The smoke quality of this piece is without a doubt the best part about it. The downstem is diffused and set up at a relatively shallow angle. This means that the chamber fills with smoke rapidly, burning through your dry herb as efficiently as possible.

The chamber is perfectly sized. I and my highly qualified group of testers all found that we were easily able to rip massive hits. The size of the chamber did not limit our ability to go overboard. However, less qualified smokers found that the chamber was perfectly sized.

When they gauged their his by the volume of the chamber, they ended up with smooth, perfectly sized hits. The chamber is easy to clear, meaning that no one is stuck trying to clear a massive chamber of smoke which is rapidly becoming stale.

Look and Feel

This waterpipe looks and feels like a far more expensive piece of glass. The sheer weight of the thing alerts the user to the fact that the glass is heavier than the size of the waterpipe would imply. The piece itself is well designed, with a downstem that diffuses perfectly into a fairly low water level. This piece of glass is easy to load, hold, hit, and pass. It is perfectly sized for solo bowls, and solid enough for incredibly satisfying travel.

The solid construction and reasonably sized bowl also make it a killer piece for group smoke sessions. One unfortunate aspect of this lovely little piece is the fact that small pieces like this one tend to be difficult to modulate. If you break this downstem (it’s quite solid, so you’d probably have to drop it with some force, still, mistakes happen) you’re going to have quite a difficult time finding another that will fit this piece just right.

In fact, you’ll likely have to go back to the original manufacturer to replace all but the most basic of patrs. Many smokers would consider this a feature of the product, but as someone with a lot of glass, I consider single-use elements to be efficiency bugs.

Ease of Maintenance

Ease of Maintenance

This piece is easy to maintain, even though it requires a large aount o maintanence. Small pieces seem to dirty more quickly. Whether you’re ealing with small pipies, water pipies, or bubblers, the smaller the elements, tubes, and chambers, the more oten you’ll be forced to clean them.

I’ve also found that clear, scientific glass seems to require the most cleaning. Something about the aesthetic of such pieces just makes residuue and gunk buildup positively unbearable. These two combine to ensure that this is a piece which requires regular cleanings. Normally this would be a discouraging factor. However, this piece of glass is suprisingly small.

Far smaller than the image would lead to to believe. I found that the size of this piece was its saving grace. Though I was irritated by the need to clean it regularly, it’s so small that cleanup is a breeze.

Every detail feels extremely purposeful. The user experience is incredible. This is definitely a piece which is built for sharing. Rather than worry about passing it around a group of inexperienced smokers, I was eager to share this piece. New smokers will be delighted to find that this is a perect entry-level waterpipe. The build quality is far beyond what you would expect from a piece of glass at this price point. The impressive detailing and unboxing experience makes this piece solidly worth the money it costs.
