Welcome to our review of the V2 Pro Series 7 Vaporizer. This portable vaporizer is the big brother to the popular V2 Pro Series 3 pen vape. When the Series 3 was originally released, it created a buzz because it was one of the first models offering true vaporization of dry herbs from a unit that also could vaporize liquids and waxes in a convenient fashion. While the Series 3 was well received, there were some noted downsides; the Series 7 is V2 Pro’s way of addressing some complaints regarding their original, while also offering a more powerful vaporizer for advanced users. Among the immediately noticeable differences are how the Series 7 is wider, offers significantly bigger cartridges, and allows more flexibility for temperature and voltage. While the price tag is higher,  it’s a small price to pay for the overall improvements offered.

Product Pros

  1. True vaporization of dry herbs, waxes, and liquids
  2. Bigger cartridges and chambers than the Series 3
  3. Smart magnetic connections
  4. Improved vapor compared to the Series 3
  5. Pass-through charger

Product Cons

  1. Battery life could be better
  2. Limited temperature range for dry herbs

V2 Pro Series 7 Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

For a vaporizer that offers the ability to vaporize three different types of material at an attractive price point, the build quality is actually surprisingly high. Like the Series 3, the body of this vape is made out of a sleek brushed aluminum. While the mouthpiece is plastic, it is still strong and durable and does not compromise the integrity of the unit.

The cartridge system for the V2 Pro Series vaporizers is especially nice, featuring magnetic connections and ‘smart’ technology that allows the vaporizer to determine what type of product it will be vaporizing. It does this by recognizing each individual type of cartridge and adjusting the heating options based on what material the cartridge is designed for. This allows the unit to accommodate a wide range of temperature and voltage needs, without having to complicate the device with multiple settings, dials, or buttons.

Vapor Quality

The vapor quality for the Series 7 is a step above the Series 3. The unit really shines when it comes to liquids and waxes, but leaves room to be desired when it comes to the vapor produced from dry herbs. This is largely due to the fact that the temperature settings are not ideally placed. While it is nice that the Series 7 provides the ability to cycle between 3 different levels, the lowest one is significantly higher than most other portables lowest setting, at 200C. At this temperature, the vapor produced by the unit is good and flavorful, though a bit on the warm side. Obviously this becomes more of a problem as you raise the temperature. While it would be nice to see more options, or at least temperatures that are placed at better intervals to accommodate different vaping styles, the Series 7 is still impressive overall in terms of vapor quality. Any unit that can produce good dry herb vapor and great liquid or wax vapor is one worth considering, especially if you are interested in a device that can handle multiple materials with ease.

Look and Feel

The Series 7 manages to maintain most of the high-quality and durable feel of the Series 3 while looking completely different. While the Series 3 was thin and perfectly round like most pen-style vapes, the Series 7 is wider and looks quite a bit like the Pax by Ploom. These two devices are actually remarkably similar looking, with the V2 being only slightly larger thanks to the mouthpiece on top and featuring a button and different LED lights.

This vaporizer is a great choice if discretion is a concern for you. A nice design feature is the fact that the cartridges slide inside the metal base, meaning there is virtually no way to tell what is being vaped without being right beside the unit and looking at the small symbols on the cartridges. The unit also is small enough to easily fit inside a pocket or bag, meaning it can be transported with ease. The only negative in regard to discreetness is the bright LED lights, which may be noticeable in dark locations. This can easily be covered with your hand, however, so shouldn’t be of much concern.

Ease of Use

The V2 Pro Series 3 is known for being beginner friendly and is one of the easiest 3-in-1 vaporizers to use. Some of this ease was sacrificed in favor of more flexibility in the Series 7. The reason I say this is because choosing the temperature or voltage you want, from the pre-set options, can be a bit of a hassle. With only one button, there are specific sequences that cause the unit to do one thing or another. While these are ultimately easy to learn and remember, they are still another step in the process and something not everyone will understand right off the bat, making sharing with friends slightly more difficult in some situations. With that said, the magnetic cartridges and charger make switching between cartridges super easy and you can literally go from vaping wax, to herbs to e-juice in a matter of seconds.

This vaporizer does pretty well in terms of portability, and while the battery is better than the one in the Series 3, it still leaves a little to be desired in terms of portability. We’ve found the the unit can last a maximum of 1.5 hours, which means it isn’t the best for all day or overnight trips, unless you are sure you will have access to a power supply. A nice feature that V2 provides is pass-through charging, meaning that when this unit does run out of juice, you can plug it in and continue enjoying it.

Warning: Not Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is not compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of compatible units, so we highly recommend considering a whip-compatible vaporizer to take advantage of this stellar ZEUS accessory item. All compatible vaporizers will have a compatibility notice.

Overall, the V2 Pro Series 7 is a great upgrade over the Series 3 and one of the best options out there if you are looking for a heavy duty ‘jack of all trades’ kind of vape. The cartridges are much bigger, holding at least double the amount and the variable temperature and voltage settings are also a nice addition, giving users more flexibility and the ability to customize their experience based on their unique preferences. This probably isn’t the best unit if you are definitely only going to be vaping one type of material, especially if that material is dry herbs. If you have an interest in dry herbs, liquids, and waxes, then that’s a whole different story, and this vaporizer may actually be perfect. It’s hard to combine functionality that allows a unit to produce good vapor from all three of these materials, but the V2 Pro Series 7 manages to do just that.

So, if you’re looking for a high quality 3-in-1 vape and like the sounds of the V2 Pro Series 7, you can purchase one for yourself from the vaporizer store we recommend for their fast, free shipping and free gift with a vaporizer purchase!
