Welcome to our Vapman vaporizer review! This vaporizer is a handy little vaporizer that comes to us from Bienne, Switzerland. It has a small heating plate but it makes use of every millimetre of space in that little gold-plated bowl. It’s one of the most efficient vaporizers we’ve seen, and gives you excellent amounts of vapor with even a small amount of botanical. In the package you get the vaporizer itself, a loading funnel, the Vapman’s unique egg shaped case, a mouth piece, and an instruction manual. It’s an excellent little sidekick unit, and if you’re used to a one-hitter you will love this unit.

  2. Great vapor quality
  3. Very efficient

Vapman Vaporizer Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

Build quality is one of this unit’s biggest strengths. It is hand crafted, and they are extremely well built.

The unit is available in the Complete or Basic version. The Mica used in the Complete is a heat-resistant coating that’s often used in electronics because of its unique insulating properties. It benefits the Vapman by adding a level of protection around the gold heating plate and improves vapor quality slightly by adding an element of convection heating.

The Basic is just like the Complete, except without the Complete coating. The bottom of the unit has exposed pear tree wood which will develop a natural char over time. This won’t affect the quality of the vapor you get, but it can be aesthetically unpleasing to some. If you have the extra cash to drop on the Complete, it’s recommended to do so for the attractive qualities it has.

Vapor Quality

Vapor quality with the unit is great. You’d think that you’re not going to get much vapor with a small amount of botanical, but the Vapman creates a mind-blowing amount of vapor in its little chamber like magic. It’s the Chris Angel of vaporizers!

Getting perfect temperature control with it can take a bit of practice. You use a torch lighter to heat the unit, so the power is in your hands. The flame can be held a few centimetres away from the bottom of the gold-plated bowl for best results, and is applied for a few seconds at a time. The typical method would be to apply heat for 3 seconds, pause for a few seconds, and then re-apply the heat. Vapor will begin to wisp out of the mouthpiece as an indicator that you’re ready to take a draw.

Vapor quality can be further controlled using the air flow holes on the middle part of the unit. These three holes can be covered up with your fingers, and restrict air from moving through the chamber very quickly. This slower draw means more extraction and thicker vapor. We like covering up 2/3 of the holes for a thick high quality vapor. The unit produces a tasty vapor, and with the optional wooden mouthpieces has a lovely earthy taste.

The Complete has slightly improved vapor quality as it incorporates a bit of convection heating. The Mica coating holds the heat and it radiates into the airflow tubes, vaporizing your blend with that extra bit of hot air.

Look and Feel

The Vapman is brilliantly designed, and the Complete and Basic both look and feel great. They used the highest quality materials when putting these things together, and even coated the copper heating bowl with gold.

The egg-shaped carrying case is really cool too. It’s smell-proof, so you can have a quick portable session and cover up any lingering odors. It’s also waterproof, so if you go camping with this vaporizer and it gets stranded in the rain it will be just fine.

The Vapman is a discreet vaporizer that fits easily in the palm of your hand. The torch heating leaves some discreetness to be desired, but it’s a great unit if you’re in a less public place like a hiking trail or campground. The egg case adds a great deal of portability as it fits easily in your pocket when it’s all bundled up.

Ease of Use

The only challenge with this unit is in learning how to properly heat the it. The first couple of times we picked up the unit, vapor was too wispy, a result of us not heating it long enough. Other times we’ve actually reached combustion temperatures – not something you want with a vaporizer! After a day of using it, you will become an expert. The range of temperature flexibility through the torch action is awesome once mastered. You can easily reach higher temperatures if you’re using botanical dust or concentrates mixed in with your botanical.

The blue-flame torch lighter used with the vaporizer may detract from discreetness, but it’s great because you don’t have to worry about charging batteries or having butane on hand. This makes this vaporizer that much better at joining you on your outdoor adventures. He doesn’t need an outlet to work!

All in all, this vaporizer is an excellent choice for someone who loves a quick session of a few draws, or someone who needs a sidekick unit to accompany a stationary unit. When we have a small amount of botanical in our grinder and we don’t want to grind up more, we throw it in the Vapman. He pumps out a bunch of vapor and lets that stationary vaporizer kick up its feet for a while and relax. It can go with you anywhere, even strange countries with foreign power outlets. It’s a unique vaporizer that we will be keeping on our desks for a long, long time.

We also wanted to suggest you check out a cool, new the vapor filtration device, called the ZEUS Iceborn that makes a great addition to the Vapman. We recently reviewed it and were blown away by how it cools down even some of the hottest vapour with ice, bumping up its vapor quality by 2 points! The Iceborn is also much more efficient than filtering your vapor with a bong, and allows you to blow massive frosty clouds. You can read our review of the Iceborn here!

Compatible with ZEUS Iceborn
This vaporizer is compatible with the ZEUS Iceborn, a revolutionary new vapor cooling system engineered by Canadian vape manufacturer ZEUSArsenal. The Iceborn is designed to produce cooler draws and bigger clouds when connected to your vaporizer. The vapour produced is ultra smooth and crisp and because of ice cooling, instead of water filtration, there is no loss of efficiency. The ZEUS Iceborn adds an additional 2 points to the vapor quality score of this vaporizer and is a highly recommended vaporizer accessory.

Is the vapman complete worth the extra cash?

Does the wooden bottom model damage easily from the heat of the flames?

You’ll have to be more careful with the pure if you choose that one. Wood burns, that’s no secret, so a torch will eventually do its damage. The complete keeps the unit aesthetically pleasing for longer and can make for a little convection heating that improves the vapor quality a bit.
