Vaporesso Polar Kit Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

The Vaporesso Polar’s design and shape are very familiar as there are a lot of mods out there that has the same design profile. It is not a bad design though as the Vaporesso Polar sports a very modern look and feel which all Vaporesso products are known for.

It features a big 2 inch TFT color screen display on the front and below it are the up and down adjustment buttons. The very clicky fire button is located on the side and there is also a micro USB port on the front that features a quick 2.5A charging feature and firmware updates.

The Vaporesso Polar has a maximum power output of 220 watts which is more than enough for most vapers and it is powered by 2 18650 batteries. The Polar mod has the upgraded 4.0 version of the Vaporesso’s Omni board and they are claiming that it is now the fastest and most responsive board on the market.

It features a 1 millisecond firing speed, which to be honest, you will never really notice the difference from their previous board but it is still extremely fast. It is so fast that when you try to turn the device off by pressing the fire button 5 times, it will fire unless you press really fast which is annoying sometimes.

The included atomizer in the kit is the Cascade Baby SE tank. This tank has a big e liquid capacity of 6.5 ml and features a very convenient pull and slide top fill design which has become a basic feature on tanks nowadays.

The kit comes in 7 different color options and you can get it in gray, red, gold, silver and a combination of red/black, green/black and blue/black.

Vapor Quality

The Vaporesso Polar kit comes with 2 coil heads, 1 GT 8 coil head and 1 GT Meshed coil head. The pre-installed GT 8 coil head has a resistance of 0.15 ohm and is rated to use between 50 watts to 110 watts while the GT Meshed coil head has a resistance of 0.18 ohm and is rated to use between 50 watts to 85 watts.

Vaporesso produces good quality coil heads and these included coil heads are no exception. The GT 8 0.15 ohm coil head has a quadruple coil build inside which is perfect for the cloud chasers out there who want big clouds all day. This coil is well rounded as it also produces great flavor but the more outstanding one is the GT Meshed coil head.

This coil and any other mesh coil are some of the best when it comes to flavor and vapor production. Since a mesh coil has a wider surface heating area compared to normal coil wires, the e liquid vaporizes evenly which makes every drag feels smoother and more flavorful and it also greatly helps with the vapor production too.

But knowing that Vaporesso has the famous CCELL coil heads available for the Cascade Baby SE, I wished they included at least 1 in the kit since that is the best coil head for me in terms of flavor and vapor.

Versatility

Versatility

The Vaporesso Polar not only has wattage mode to utilize its 220 watts of power, but it also features temperature control that supports the use of nickel, stainless steel and titanium coils. It also supports TCR or temperature coefficient of resistance to further personalize your temperature control needs and if you just want to lock your voltage when vaping, it also has variable voltage mode.

The only problem I have with the Polar mod though is that its battery tray has no ribbon which is a very questionable build decision from Vaporesso. Almost all mods that have a removable battery configuration uses some kind of a ribbon implementation inside the battery tray so that we can easily remove the batteries safely from the mod. Without this, it will be hard and annoying taking the batteries out since they are tightly secured in the tray.

Portability

Portability

The Vaporesso Polar with the Cascade Baby SE tank installed is only 144 mm in height, 45 mm in length and 28 mm in width. It is not a large device despite having a dual battery configuration and it is one of the slimmest dual battery mods on the market.

Portability is great too with its option to be charged anywhere thanks to its micro USB port that has a super fast 2.5A charging feature. This means you don’t have to bring extra batteries with you when you are out and about.

Conclusion

Overall, the Vaporesso Polar kit is a solid kit for the newbies and the long time vapers alike. The Polar mod has an elegant and modern design and is packed full of features that will satisfy every vaper’s needs. I am also happy with the Cascade Baby SE tank that utilizes the GT coil heads especially the GT Mesh coil head which is superb in terms of flavor and vapor production. If you are looking for a new vaping kit, the Vaporesso Polar kit is definitely a good buy.
