Vivant Dabox Review: Breakdown

Build Quality

Build Quality

The Dabox is built using quality materials and has a good weight to it. The mouthpiece is made of glass and is pretty long for such a short device. The glass tube stems down to the oven chamber and has additional filter holes at its base.

The Dabox comes with a Dual Quartz Coil and a Dual Quartz Clapton Coil. The device has a patent pending Flip Door that opens and closes giving you access to the coil where you can quickly load it or replace a coil as necessary. The overall build quality of the Dabox is above industry average.

Vapor Quality

The vapor that you get with this little unit is pretty solid. For those of you who like to use a vape mod with vape juices I think this unit will cater to you. You are able to get dense clouds and this is done through holding down the fire button in a similar fashion as you would with a mod box.

The dual quartz coil has a very fastest almost instant heat up time. The Clapton dual quartz has a bit longer of a heat up time but produces more flavorful vapor. I had no real preference in the two coils as they each have something to offer that I think you would want, and switching back and forth with this nit is very simple.

If after reading this review you are still interested in purchasing the Dabox they also have a single quartz Clapton coil which is not included and can be bought separately. The single Clapton coil lays between the other two and gives strong vapor with medium heat up time.

Look and Feel

The Dabox as I have mentioned looks similar to a box mod and operates in a similar fashion as well. The LED lights communicate the charge that remains and lights up the glass mouthpiece which makes it look pretty cool. The lights also indicate that there is a connection to the coil, and that the device is active when the fire button is pressed.

The Dabox uses three different LED colors which display the remaining charge – Green means that you have between 80%+ battery life remaining, Blue means you have 20% to 79%, and Red means that you have under 19%.

On a size scale the Dabox is a discreet little unit and you can conceal it in your hand and it easily fits into your pocket. When you are using the Dabox it is not very discreet because it is a vapor producer that delivers decent size clouds.

The LED lights which indicate the battery level make the device look like a christmas tree glowing for all to see. Fortunately the device does have a stealth mode which enables you to disable these lights for a more stealthy session.

Ease of Use

The Dabox is very simple to use and easy to maintain. The glass mouthpiece airflow tube combo slides in and out of position. The swinging oven chamber coil door makes accessing the coils very user friendly.

If you have used a box mod before or a typical wax pen the operation is very similar. When you have the unit turned on you wil hold down on the fire button to apply heat and you inhale through the mouthpiece. The longer you hold down the hotter the unit will get.

You can run the unit through a heat cycle before placing your wax/dabs in it to give it a quick clean. You can do this with each of the coils. When you have done this you can then give it a go with your material.

The battery used in this vape is a built in 1500 mAh lithium ion battery. This is a solid battery and above average when it comes to concentrate vaporizers in this price category.

The Dabox uses a quick charging system that allows the battery to go from a drained battery to a full charge in about an hour’s time.

The size of the Dabox is very compact and easily portable. Ts a fund device to carry around with you and lasts quite a while between charges.

Overall I would say that I enjoyed using the Dabox vaporizer and its design is unique among wax vapes and the vapor and build quality are both above average. Portable wax vapes are becoming more popular and I expect that we will start seeing more mod style designs in the near future. The Dabox is a quick and easy way to do dabs and the performance of this little device is strong.

I enjoyed using the fire button and holding the vape like you would a mod. Some people will obviously prefer the pen shaped design as they are more pocket friendly and less bulky but there will also be a good chunk of people that will prefer this style.

The price point of this dab vaporizer is on the low end and is one of the best performers in its price category. While we are on the topic of different styles of wax vaporizers you may be interested in checking out the Dipper from DipStick Vapes. The Dipper is a multi-style vaporizer that gives you the option to pack it like a regular wax pen or to flip the mouthpiece and use the straw tip atomizer to do dabs.

If you are looking for more of a pen style unit we recommend the Thunder 2 and if you are looking for a unit that will give you a rig like experience for waxes and water filtration for dry herb, we recommend checking out the Focusvape Tourist 2-in-1 vaporizer.

I basically liked my Dabox. I got it because the Incendio tank was fucked DOA…I was told oh that doesn’t work with Smok AL 85s, Instead of just sending me another, they advised me to try it in another mod or sell it. I had my cousin check it out and there was a missing piece. Ivan (From Vivant) basically blamed me. They gave me 35% off for the Dabox. With the water filter I ended up spending more money that a disabled vet is hard to come by. I needed something working and these people took advantage of my good nature.
As an extra note a I cleaned the water filter Tube with everclear..rinsed it out with cold water not long after the top of the glass crumbled.. Good ol Ivan couldn’t even set it up for me to buy another glass piece but wanted me to buy a whole other entire unit.., at least reputable companies like source will guarantee their products. You might pay a little more but in the end you’ll have a superior product as well as respect from a company that wants there consumers to have the best!! My ratings Incendio tank -1, Dabox 3.5, water filter (4 as long as it was working) service -5 .. You can fuck with Vivant if you want to but don’t ever say you wasn’t warned beforehand!!!
