Every time a new pod style vaporizer comes out, people tend to compare it to the JUUL and we can’t blame them as the JUUL was the first to release a fresh and innovative pod style device that works really great. Just like this new device called the Vladdin pod system, they are a new company that just released a pod-style vaporizer which looks very similar to the JUUL and the other pod style devices on the market. At the end of the day, I believe that we, the consumers, always win as we have all these options to choose from and we are not limited to just a few selections of products.  Also, check out the Vapesterdam Ultimate Vape Buyers’ Guide to learn about all the e-cigarettes available out there.

Build Quality

We have seen a lot of pod style devices before and the Vladdin pod system is no different. It has the usual compact and light, rectangular stick design when looking at it on the front, but this Vladdin pod system has slightly sharp edges on both sides that make it look thinner when looking at it on the side.

It is an interesting design choice as it makes the whole device sleeker and more ergonomic which makes holding it feel good in the hand. As a pod-style device, it doesn’t have any unnecessary buttons or screen display, all it has is a battery life indicator on the front and a micro USB port on the bottom.

The inclusion of a micro USB port is a very good decision from Vladdin since many vapers always complain about the proprietary charging of most pod style devices. Almost everyone has a micro USB cable and having a micro USB port makes it a lot easier to charge the Vladdin which is fantastic.

The Vladdin has a built-in 350 mah battery which is pretty normal and it has a maximum wattage output of 12 watts which is good enough for a pod-style device. The pod is magnetic and you only get 1 in the kit. What’s interesting is they have 2 kit options which are a prefilled kit and a refillable kit.

The prefilled kit is just like any other closed pod systems where the pod already has an e liquid inside and you have to replace the whole pod when you are out of juice and buy another prefilled pod. The refillable pod is as its name implies, where you can refill the pod with any e liquid you want, however, you still need to replace the pod when the coil inside is no longer usable.

If you are undecided and don’t know which kit to buy, don’t worry as both pods are compatible with the base itself and the prefilled pod and the refillable pod can be purchased separately. It is always good to have this kind of option as some vapers don’t want to be limited to a company’s e liquid offerings and most of the time, having a refillable pod can save you money in the long run instead of just buying a prefilled pod.

The Vladdin pod system only comes in 1 color option which is black and I am not sure if they are going to release more color options in the future.

Vapor Quality

The prefilled pod and the refillable pod has a ceramic coil system inside which is patented as Vladdin claims. The ceramic coil has a resistance between 1.2 ohms to 1.5 ohms and the Vladdin can fire up to 12 watts. The good thing about ceramic coils is they are the best heating element for low powered devices such as pod style vaporizers.

Ceramic coils can handle higher temperatures than most coils and they produce more vapor with less power so it is perfect for lower wattages as they can save battery life without compromising the flavor and vapor quality, giving you the best vaping experience.

The Vladdin pod system is air driven which means it is automatic, you just have to take a drag, and it will produce vapors just like a normal cigarette. Its airflow is not adjustable which is unfortunate but you can still do a mouth to lung or a direct lung drag on it since the airflow is not too tight and not too open.

Having an option for a prefilled pod or a refillable pod is a big plus but if you just want a simple vaping life and chose to get the prefilled kit, you have 4 different flavor options and 2 different nicotine strength options.

The favors you can get are vanilla custard tobacco, ice tobacco, mint tobacco, and northern tobacco. You can also choose if you want an 18 mg nicotine strength or a 50 mg nicotine strength.

Being a pod-style vaporizer automatically makes it one of the most compact vaporizers on the market. It is only 112 mm in height, 19 mm in width and 11 mm in thickness.

It is slightly bigger than the JUUL but it is still super compact and ergonomic which makes it a perfect vaping device when you are out and about as you will have no problems storing it anywhere or just putting it inside your pocket.

Vladdin Pod full kit

The Vladdin pod system kit is a great new starter vaporizer to help the newbies quit smoking cigarettes. It is actually impressive how a new company was able to produce a good pod style vaporizer and I am pretty sure they will become well known if they are going to be consistent with the quality of their future products.

The option of having a refillable pod is also a big plus since almost all competitors have that advantage over the JUUL. Its patented ceramic coil technology gets the job done and overall, I like the build quality and the vapor quality this device can produce. If you are a newbie looking for a starter kit or if you just want a compact vaporizer for your nicotine fix, the Vladdin pod system kit is a good buy.
