The Wellon Ripple is considered as a pod style vaporizer but it is more like an all-in-one device. Most pod style devices are thin and super compact that you won’t even notice them in your pocket but the Wellon Ripple is kind of on the thicker side. Most of them also feature a mouth to lung vaping style but the Wellon Ripple features a very airy style draw and it also has a pod system but it is refillable. The Wellon Ripple has some features that you won’t be able to see on most conventional pod style devices which makes it a very interesting vaporizer.

The Wellon Ripple is primarily made of aluminum alloy with some ABS plastic. It is available in 4 different color options and you can get it in black, silver, champagne gold and rose gold. It has the usual look and feel that most pod style devices have and it looks very similar to the Aspire Breeze but it is on the thicker side.

Its design is somewhat ergonomic as its edges are flat but it looks boxy. It doesn’t have any buttons or display like most pod style vaporizers and it only has a small window on the side to see your e liquid, a micro USB port for charging and a small LED light indicator for the battery.

It has a built-in battery that has a capacity of 650 mah, which is pretty large for a pod style device but its tank or pod has an e liquid capacity of 2 ml which is pretty small in today’s standards. The pod is located inside the base which can be easily removed by pulling it out with the mouthpiece since it is magnetic and it is refillable as well which is nice.

Its coil is an oil-absorbing ceramic coil which is highly optimized for high nicotine e liquids, nicotine salt based e liquids and even CBC e liquids. Most pod style devices are air driven activated and some have a fire button but the Wellon Ripple is different and that is what sets it apart from the competition.

The Wellon Ripple features a skin sensing technology which are the 2 metal strips located on the other half of the mouthpiece that is not removable. Every time you put it in your mouth, the device activates and the vapor will come out.

It somehow acts like a capacitive strip since it will activate even with a touch of your finger. It can be considered a safety feature since it can prevent it from firing if it is in your pocket and it will only activate if it detects your lips or skin. It is somehow gimmicky but at least they are the first to do it this way which is pretty cool.

The pod that comes with the kit has a ceramic coil inside that has a resistance of 1.4 ohm. It is an oil-absorbing ceramic coil which is perfect for high nicotine e liquids, nicotine salt based e liquids and CBD oils. When I said earlier that the Wellon Ripple is kind of like an all-in-one device rather than a pod style device is because of how it vapes.

Most pod style devices have very small airflow holes that makes them a mouth to lung vaporizer but the Wellon Ripple has a very airy drag due to its multiple airflow holes on the bottom of the pod. It also can’t be adjusted so you will always get an airy drag from it.

The problem with the Wellon Ripple’s setup is that since it is a low powered device paired with a high resistance coil, you won’t get as much flavor from it due to its airflow being wide open. I am not sure if they will change it or release new pods with tighter airflow holes but if you like an airy drag from a low powered and high resistance coil setup, then you will like how the Wellon Ripple vapes.

Versatility

Versatility

The Wellon Ripple is a very simple vaporizer meant to be used by beginners or even long time vapers that want a compact device. It has a good build and it is cool that the pod is refillable but if they make the airflow of the pod adjustable then it will be perfect.

Most people buy a pod system due to its tight draw which mimics smoking a normal cigarette. There are vapers who like an airy draw but if it is not recommended to have a very airy draw on a low powered, high resistance setup as it will greatly lose flavor making your favorite e liquids taste bland.

Portability

Portability

The Wellon Ripple is only 80 mm in height, 30.5 mm in width and 16.5 mm in thickness which makes it one of the smallest vaporizers on the market right now.

It has a big 650 mah battery for a pod system which makes it a perfect vape device when you are out and about since it can last a whole day without charging.

Conclusion

The Wellon Ripple is somehow a hybrid of a pod system and an all-in-one. It has the same look and feel of a pod system but it vapes like an all-in-one except that it doesn’t have an adjustable wattage and airflow. It has a good build, great ceramic coil and innovative skin sensing technology that makes it a good contender in the saturated market of pod systems.

However, it really needs to have an adjustable airflow or maybe an option for a pod with a tighter airflow. Not all vapers like a very airy drag on a pod system but if you are one of them, then the Wellon Ripple might be the perfect pod style device for you.
